as yr usage is basic, i suggest going for silent casings. Fractal R5 comes to mind if u want window. Or at budget, Corsair 200r. if u don't like to spend too much time on cable management, then the Corsair Air 540.

PSU imo no need to be nice cos can't really see. But Corsair psu tend to look nicer. 500w or near there is more than enough.

just get 4460. that extra speed is negligible.

Asus Z87-k is sold on lazada for $150. might wana consider it.

If you have seen Jian's suggested set up you would see that there's no GPU too. Because websurfing and watching movies, even full HD movies don't need a dedicated GPU. There is simply no need for that.

Like hengheng said, if you are already decided and hellbent on getting certain items then go ahead and get it, it's your money. Ppl here give you suggestions based on your specified usage liao to help you get the appropriate parts but if you already decided to get certain parts then just hoot don't need ask here.

already decided to go for 4460 with z87 chipset, at least my ram still can be used

intending to drop the z97 and 4690 concept now so just to chk any significant difference between 4160(3.6) and 4460(3.2)

although i dun do gaming but i do a lot of processing work, file transfer, music, heavy surfing and streaming cause my wife woo open many tabs at once

already bought 4gbx2 kingston hyper x fury 1866mhz, samsung evo 850 250gb, odd will use back old one, gpu might go for gt730 2gb which i think more than enough and hdd will wait for lazada hgst 3tb as suggested by bro moneyface

so can advise on the mobo (h87 or z87) and which cpu to get either between 4160 or 4460 as budget is still within my expectations and can afford to spare for a better range

for casing i was preparing to go for coolermaster cm690iii but seems too overrated, prefer a full black mid tower with proper ventilation with both usb2 and usb3 at the front i/o interface

for psu really no idea how much watt to get but after all the cut back on the cpu and mobo, think can go for a better psu and nice casing

os not needed as already have win 7 pro 64 bit

That GPU wouldn't do any much for you when Intel IGP is already capable of decoding all the videos you'll watch.

And $100 is too much for such low end entry level card when you can acquire it for just $40 from Convergent. GT 630 they are selling is the same as GT 730.

by the way any idea when would lazada open up the 10% discount for the hgst 3tb you suggested earlier
