Advise my RIG~~

plan to use for few years. previous pc encounter overheating problem. Got use for gaming.

Cpu - intel i5-4670
mobo- Asrock H87M-Pro
GPU - Gigabyte GTX660 OC 2 GB
HDD- Barracuda 2TB
Case- Gigabyte sumo alpha
Ram- Corsair 8GB
PSU- Seasonic S12ii Modular
[MAYBE] SSD - Samsung 120GB

Is This build ok? comments are welcomed

where are u getting the sdd from amz? if so.. can get the gtx 660.. only 190 usd... the monitor u got ordy? if not dell 23" is ok.... the 3 tb hdd u really need? 2 1 tb hdd will be better i feel..

Hmm.. Heard sandisk has issues recently with their products, including SSD.

PSU can use Seasonic brand bah. Get the 500+ wattage one if you don't plan on doing SLI.

And why don't go Haswell? Supposedly to be consume less power and lesser heat than Ivy Bridge.

I think u should get a better gpu also, to last u a couple of years. But it all depends on if you would mind gaming at low settings. Lol.

GTX 660 not bad but I don't think it will last that long.

Fan-wise, depend on your casing. Some casings give one, some give a few. Go to their website to check.

If u are not over-clocking but still afraid of top much heat, you can add a CPU fan cooler also.

Other than that, I let the other bros advise rig base on ur budget. Lol

buying parts from amazon.
most likely, ssd and gpu get from there.
HDD depends on price since almost same price as SLS

not sure which GPU more wu hua now leh...GTX 760 price will fall much in 2 months time?

Why not go for haswell?

i5-4670 + ASUS H87M
Seasonic for PSU can't go wrong.
You don't really need extra fans for a non OC rig.
GPU maybe go for 760 if you can get it at 400 bucks. If not 650Ti Boost seems to be a better choice as it performs similar to 660 at a less noticeable performance boost.

It's around somewhere in this forum I think. Can't remember from which thread.

But anyway, plextor n Samsung ssd should be cheaper also cause the hogged a lot of NAND chips. Lol.

HDD: 3 TB? 1-2 TB is enough for a pure gaming rig unless you gonna store tons of porn. WD Blue 1 TB or 2 TB. Hitachi for extra warranty
Case: personally I'll recommend Arc Midi R2
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz DDR3 (2x4 GB), $99
PSU: Seasonic 550W will suffice
SSD: Plextor M5P 128 GB

Really depends on your budget.

550W is enough for single gpu setup. Normal mid towers can house quite a number of HDDs so shouldn't be a problem, just make sure your hdd and odd are using sata connector.

For ram, I will suggest you go for value ram since you are going for non-oc setup.

For case, can consider Sharkoon T5 @ $63 or Sharkoon T28 @ $89 and psu, FSP Raider 550W or Seasonic S12 520W @ $89.

550W should be enough if there's not gonna be SLI or over-clocking bah..

Go for GTX 660TI instead if you have spare cash...

My Scout 2 case gave me free cable ties.. Check out the casings on the web then you know if you got enough space for HDDs loh. But most likely will have space.

550W enough.
You can plug 10 HDDs if your Motherboard supports it.
Cable Ties are not really necessary if you're good with cable management,
though having them is a plus point.
Makes things easy alot.

Asus and Gigabyte ain't the only GPU producers wor.. Check out cheaper brands like Palit or Leadtek..

Been using Palit brand for years and never had issues.. But it might be just me..
