Advise Needed for Dec Trip

Hi! Can somebody help me with the below itinerary:

a: Tokyo - Kyoto (4 days) - Kanazawa (2 days) - Tokyo or
b: Tokyo - Kanazawa (2 days) - Kyoto (4 days) - Tokyo

Which way better? Is it worth to go Kanazawa or is there any place I can still go to replace Kanazawa (2 available days) since I will buy the 7 days JR Pass & hope to fully utilised the JR pass beside to & fro Tokyo & Kyoto.

I have 4 adults + 1 yr old baby

What do you hope to see at Kanazawa? It’s named as Little Kyoto as it has chaya districts. Both ways make no difference since you’ve got JR Pass.

Ok Thanks. Coz have not been there before so thought might as well go & have a look. Osaka is out as we have been there before.

Sorry, I always laugh when people always says they have been to a place and won’t visit again. Been to Tokyo more than 8 times in different seasons and I’m always able to find new places or things to do.

It is your trip so you can decide for yourself. It’ll be quite cold at Kanazawa in Dec, most likely snowing so dress up appropriately. Can do day trip to Shirakawa-go for a couple of hours if you want.

Thanks for highlighting on the weather in Kanazawa. We also been to Tokyo a nos of times & we are still going back there to stay like 6 days for this trip.

so jealous! Kanazawa is absolutely beautiful place...and they have the best green tea. They even have green tea with specs of gold leaf inside
