Advise needed for new PC

Hi Gurus,

My PC is about 6/7 yrs and starts to have issue.
Can advise me the build for around 2k?
Mainly use for VM home lab and some gaming (GW2, Genshin, Dota2).
Appreciate your inputs.

for vm use, a system with high core count and a lot of ram is suitable. for ur games though, u dont need a very powerful gpu to run them well, though the definition of "well" depends on the resolution and refresh rate u r targeting.

if u run 2 concurrent vms or less and play games around 1080p 60fps, i would suggest the following:

ryzen 7 5700g + asus tuf gaming a520m wifi	524
id cooling se 224 xt	36
adata xpg d50 spectrix rgb 2x 16gb 3600c18	169
wd sn570 1tb	125
super flower legion gx pro 650w	105
any matx case or bigger	~100

total about 1.1k.

if ur use case is more demanding, then i would tentatively suggest this:

intel i7 12700f + msi pro b660m-a	688
scythe fuma 2 rev b	83
adata xpg d50 spectrix rgb 2x 16gb 3600c18	169
wd sn850 1tb	189
super flower legion gx pro 650w	105
any matx case or bigger	~100

total without gpu (which is needed): about 1350.

u dont need the latest and greatest card to max out settings on those games, but buying brand new budget gpus from sls sure kena chop carrot head one. like the prices for a 16 series card is basically the same as it was 3.5 years ago, when by right they should be much cheaper by now. i strongly encourage u to consider used deals as budget cards can be had for way below 200.
if u still prefer brand new, i have never recommended a 6500xt before but i feel this is still ok-ish for light gaming in a pcie4 enabled system. now is a good time to mention that all of the prices above are from dynacore, and looking at their price list, they have a msi 6500xt for under 250 and it should be cheaper and much faster than a 1650 non super. but as mentioned before, it would be best if u can be as specific as possible regarding the use case and ur monitor resolution and refresh rate.

For GPU, i actually looking at 6700XT range.
Used card i scare got issue as alot of them are use for mining.

How does Ryzen 5800x compare with i7 12700f?

u really dont need that amount of gpu horsepower, most of it would go to waste for the games u listed and would likely net u the same experience with a slower but cheaper card. that said, u can snag a couple 6700xt models for about 700, but so far i only see bizgram having a decently priced model: the msi gaming x @ 690. u can also look at 3060ti, more plentiful affordable models with about the same performance while having dlss and better rt; pcthemes has palit dual and msi gaming x for 660-670 and dynacore has zotac and galax models around 620.

basically, dont bother with the 5800x. 12700 easily rivals the 5900x for the same money as a 5800x.

the deals are the 3060ti /6700xt at 1.2k
the rest is pretty much their standard pricing for the past few month

Actually aftershock computer can buy? I see the pricing very good just that the parts they are using are not the best kind. Was comparing them but I chose to diy with the parts I wanted.

looks quite competitive in terms of pricing after their tiktok discount if you just compare to SLS pricelist

the tech show sales pcs are good value, but the parts arent that great. wraith stealth on a 5600 is barely enough, the a520 theyre using is probably barely enough for a 6 core too, and their psu and case selection is meh. not to mention their qc and after sales support, really is after buy then kena shock...

for the performance tier u were considering - 3060 ti: galax 1 click oc @ 625
