Hi All,

My AMD 290x series graphic card just died after 3 years usage. My currently desktop is already 6 years old.

I was wondering should i buy a second-hand or brand new graphic card and use until my motherboard died.

I foresee my motherboard, ram and others might not last another 2 years.

I was thinking should i re-use my SSD, casing and power supply(coller master GX Bronze 650w) and upgrade the rest of the items.

or should i buy an available made desktop ( i am currently eyeing Asus VivoPC X M80)

My day to day usage for desktop will be surfing net, work, light programming, abit of gaming (eg. D3 and starcraft 2), watching movie.

Quite frankly, if you are happy with the rest of the PC, get a second hand 1060

You can get the Palit GTX 1060 Dual 6GB GDDR5 that's on flash sale on Lazada at $369 now. Apply the code for further 11% discount. Use Shopback and Lazada LiveUp for cash rebates.

Do buy now as it is only on flash sale for another 20 minutes

FOr your usage

GTX1060 3gb is more than sufficient coz it is like at least $70 less than the 6gb version
I have both 3 / 6gb version and the 25% improvement vis a vis performance gain is subjective.

GTX1060 3gb around $283/$286 for Palit version
GTX1060 6gb around $359 for Galax version
