Hi everyone, I need some advice on what to upgrade for my almost 5 years old pc.

Current specs;
CPU+MB: Intel Core i5-3470 + ASRock B75 Pro3-M
RAM: Kingston DDR-1333 CL9 4GB [Black PCB] x2
GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1060 Dual 6GB GDDR5
PSU:FSP Aurum 500W [80 Plus Gold]
SSD + HDD: Crucial MX300 750GB 2.5" SATA SSD, Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.C 500GB & Seagate 7200rpm 1TB HDD
ODD: Asus 24X CD/DVD Writer
CASE: Sharkoon T28 case
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
DSP: Dell u2312hm 23" EIPS & Dell S2316H LED monitor
Speakers: Creative T50 speakers

Was wondering with a budget of $800, would I be able to get a decent upgrade for a new case, cpu+mb, psu, ram and OS?

PS, I use my pc mainly for watching movies and playing games such as Dota 2, CS:GO and BF1.

Thanks!

Actually your build is relatively well-balanced and still very capable for your stated needs. IMO if die die want upgrade to scratch the itch i would recommend just find a used i7 3770 for around 200 or upgrade the case to a relatively modern one like coolermaster masterbox 5 lite or phantek p400 tg and other bling bling like braided psu cable to zhng yr pc.

if u really want to revamp yr pc hor, i dun think 800 is enough as u have to be looking at r7 1700s to really feel the upgrade in performance, which cost around 600ish just for cpu and mobo alone, haven count in ram which are like 200+ for 16gb and a decent psu at 100++

But my PC will have random hangs and while using chrome, not sure if it's a chrome-thing or ram issue. There are times when my PC boots up with 4 beeps, I read that it's an ram issue?

Yea sounds like ram issue. Try cleaning and then reseat the ram. If u wanna upgrade, I also suggest

Just bcoz its 5 years doesnt mean u have to change though tbh. But if u want to upgrade/overhaul it, maybe wait for icelake instead of coffeelake, or go for ryzen :)
