Hi,

When I load some pages on my iPhone's safari browser sometimes I get redirected to random websites. It started off with just a few websites that this would happen but now it's happening to more of my pages when I load them.

Any solutions please? I would reset and restore my iPhone from a backup but I'm not sure if this problem's 'part of my backup now'

what are the affected websites?
I don't mind giving them a try :)

Do you get affected when you surf HWZ?

Nope HWZ's good! It used to be just the business times site. Now when I load straits times I get it as well, along with half of the sites I load on Twitter and fb. I think the problem lies w my phone haha but I'm not sure how to fix it? Couldn't really find a good solution on Google also:(

Nothing to do with your phone, safari or google; go to Appstore, download & enable Adblock. It's free & very effective. However, it may interfere with some apps so just disable it when u don't need it.

Did you download the correct Adblock? The one I'm using and recommended is Adblock Mobile - the color of the app is black; if you downloaded the red one then it's the wrong one.

Yup, that's the one. I notice sometimes it disconnects by itself & that's when you get redirected to App Store etc again; all u need to do is just re-enable it by going to Settings > VPN > Enable Adblock & tap to connect.

Guys I really need help. I have the same problem as described by TS. Even with the Adblock app it didn't help. Now it's much worse. I got porn sites popping up. And it just happened while in the MRT! Do you think a clean install will help?

I encountered this while surfing channelnewsasia and hardwarezone sites. But I'm pretty sure others sites will also have the same problem. When I was using android I didn't have this problem. But why on iOS?

I'm having the same problem too with random websites on both my iPad and iPhone.

Have you guys tried changing browsers? I'm using Mercury (free) which has got a built in pop up blocker.

I also have this problem on both IPad Air and iPhone 5s on iOS 8.3. Very sick of the random redirects which began on Twitter links in-app and on Facebook (even through the Paper app). I decided to add some of those malicious URLs (aflrm.com I think) to my router firewall. Too bad there is no firewall built-in in iOS settings.

And I thought I was the only one. Not many links to the problem when I googled a couple weeks back.

Try this?

Settings->privacy->advertising

1. Enable limit ad tracking
2. Reset advertising identifier

Close safari/Facebook and relaunch the app.

This doesn't work for me at all; still get directed to App Store etc; so far only enabling Adblock works.

How do you downloaded the mercury web browser? I tried but the App Store says the app not available in Singapore store.

I've used it since my 4s days; that must have been about 3 years ago - it was available on the S'pore App Store then.
