Aerospace Engineering: What does It Entail?

This thread is really informative! I'd like to add on abit with my experience as a TLAE.

I came from poly and joined the TLAE scheme at st aero. For degree holders, the only difference is $400 in your basic pay. The rest is all the same. You still have to pass the CAAS papers and need to clear type course, collect enough SOE and then try to clear the interview, all within the 8yrs bond. Having a degree does not matter at this point, it only gives you abitmore in terms of basic pay.

For degree holders, it would be useful if you want to become a project manager. Other than that... I dont see guys with degrees staying long. They normally use st as a stepping stone to get the license in Licensed Aircraft Engineer.

Final Project on ATC

I am doing my FYP related to Air Traffic Controlling. Please do look through the details if you are interested! It's a paid participation!


Participants are needed for the study of “Human Factors Evaluation of Conflict Resolution Aid in Future Air Traffic Control”

If you are interested to join, we want you!

What:
- You can participate in an ATC study
- You just need to run an ATC simulator and do a controller’s tasks
- You will be provided with an automation to help you
- You can receive SGD50 as a token of appreciation upon completion of your experiment sessions.

When:
- The experiment will start in October 2014
- Each participant is required to attend 5 different sessions
- Each session will be one hour
- The time will vary depending upon participants’ availability
