Hi all,

I will be travelling to Japan on 01 to 14 Dec and a rough itinerary will be like this(as recommended by evilerniex in his thread):

1 Dec: Head straight to kyoto from Narita airport by train (activate JRpass)
2-5 Dec: Station in Kyoto, day/side trip to Osaka, Kyoto, Nara
6 Dec: Travel to Kinosaki
7 Dec: Kinosaki to Tokyo
8-14 Dec: Tokyo

Those in bold are which hotel booking is needed.
1)For Kyoto, was thinking of Hotel Sunroute but it can also be either Toyoko-inn or Super-hotel
2)Not yet plan for Kinosaki
3)For Tokyo, was thinking of Narita Gateway hotel

I would like to book the hotel sometimes by next week, and I would like to ask if those choices of hotel that I have made(by googling around) are decent. My only concerns are that those hotels must be accessible and reasonable priced(cheap and good will be a bonus!).

For Kinosaki, where should I book my 2D1N accommodation at? Should I book through places like agoda/booking.com or maybe here. I see that the price for 1 night stay in Kinosaki is abit pricy, but what is the reasonable price anyway? Will it be troublesome to travel to Tyoko from Kinosaki? This is quite a concern as my 7days JRpass's last day is the day I leave Kinosaki to Tyoko.

Also, I am also welcoming any comments on my brief itinerary as it will be my first time going Japan and I don't want to screw up anything there. Thanks for reading!

1. for kyoto, since u are making day trips out, it will be more convenient to stay near kyoto station. alternative will be to stay in osaka instead, coz it is easier to find cheaper accom in osaka.

2. kinosaki is an onsen town. the accom there are usually ryokans with comes with onsen and provide breakfast and dinner. which is y it is usually expensive. the cheaper ones shld cost around 8000-10000yen per person per night

3. it guess u mean tokyo. narita is in a different prefecture from tokyo and it takes about 1hr to get from narita to tokyo. shld stay within tokyo, such as in ueno or shinjuku

btw, ur mailbox full. couldnt reply ur pm

Thanks evilerniex, I think I will go for Osaka accom instead of kyoto, and I also see that Osaka hotels are abit cheaper that Kyoto. So any recommendation of hotels for Osaka as well as Tokyo? I have also cleared my pm already.

U mean Tokyo and not Osaka right? Narita Gateway hotel? You will be actually staying outside Tokyo so it's definitely not convenient. For Tokyo, I recommend Super Hotel Ikebukuro Nishiguchi. Cheap and convenient. And if u stay at Super hotel in Kyoto as well, you accumulate stamps on a stamp card that will get u cash back on your next check in.

Alright I will be looking at that Super Hotel Ikebukuro Nishiguchi for my stay in Tokyo :) Should I book at their website or places like agoda?

for osaka, it will be good to stay near osaka/umeda station since u are making day trips out to kyoto and nara. can consider Hotel Kinki.

u can consider Super hotel Ueno Iriyaguchi also. i usually book directly through the hotel, but u can check to see if other websites are cheaper

Thanks for the help guys.

I have booked Super hotel Ueno Iriyaguchi for Osaka & Super Hotel Ikebukuro Nishiguchi for Tokyo.

As for Kinosaki, I have booked a ryokan style 1 night stay at Kinosaki Onsen Kawaguchiya Honkan. Any comment on that? :s13:
