depends what the budget is and what affordable means.
I just bought one at CEE show.
Was HP Pavilion 14 and has i7 processor with 8gb ram. Cost me 899 which i thought was a good price for the spec.

For sure there are much cheaper models but the specs are much lower. There are also much more expensive ones. Good luck with choosing.

No point introducing the Stream. It has limited memory... 64 GB only... if he's doing programming then he may need quite a bit more space...

There aren't cheap and fast laptops. You pay for what you require. If you want a thin, fast, high powered laptop then I think the Dell XPS13 is really good. But you're looking at $2000+. Or an Acer S7. Also via same same price ballpark.

May I ask, these prices are from ? CEE?
stream 11 $309 pricing standard where it's sold, e.g. best denki, challenger, courts, etc. stream 13 $349. stream 13 with data-sim slot $399

lenovo s21e $349 available from lenovo singapore website, though price seems to have gone back to $399
