Hi all,

Need some help in upgrading my current pc because gaming on Apex is pretty laggy for me even at Low quality.

Current specs are:
Intel G4560 3.5Ghz
Asus H110M A M.2
DDR4 2133Mhz CL15 Kingston 8gb
Gtx960 2gb
FSP 450W Hexa

Just wanna play Apex Legends at a steady performance around Medium/High quality if possible. Don’t have a specific Budget but wanna keep it as affordable as possible and not really sure about prices on the current parts as well.

Thanks in advance!

Can start by upgrading gpu to gtx1070 (less then 300 used) or RX580 (ard 150 used) and DDR4 buy another piece. Proccesor upgrade to i5 or i3 at least.

As earlier advised, a GTX 1070 is a good start. Plus add an SSD if you are not already using one.

its laggy because bottleneck by the GPU 2GB, else it would be fine.

get a gtx 1060 6GB or better.

Upgrade ur cpu also.

thanks all for the feedback, I tried to get more info on my com's capability:

Afterburner states that my processor (G4560) has 4 CPU(s) constantly operating at high 80% to sub 90% throughout the game, whereas GPU is 100% consistently. Noticed that GPU temp was also running pretty high at 80+ deg celcius too.

So would this be a bottleneck for the GPU? Would it be normal for the CPU to be running at this state or is it also stating that I need the CPU to be upgraded as well too?

both bottleneck, but get GPU first.. because ur GPU vram is main bottleneck.

Am gonna settle for a 1060 6gb as it’s more than enough for my gaming purposes, but CPU wise what would be a good and Budget mobo that wont bottleneck? Don’t need it to be futureproof as I’ll be busy in a few months time..

Ryzen 3000 is releasing soon, so people gonna ditch their old hardware when the time comes. You can focus your purchase on used Ryzen 5 1600 and a new mobo.

It should cost around 200+ for both items, motherboard maybe buy new better. Asrock B450M PRO 4 around $130 locally, it's good value.

Also, you can also add another 8GB Ram if you want.. your ram is pretty cheap.. i think around $30-$50 can get it.

$300 budget can upgrade no problem

If you need to save abit try 2nd hand

Cpu : Ryzen R5 1600 or 2600 (try to get a 2600 if it's within your budget)
Ram : 3000mhz ddr4 (minimum) 16gb.
Motherboard : b450(asrock pro4 or bazooka v2)
GPU : Vega 56 8gb - gtx 1070 should last you another 3years.

it's slowing down because it's thermal throttling at 80+c

also everything is running at limit, so you can't just swap out one component. anything new will get bottlenecked immediately

if you want to keep the mb, get a 2nd hand i5 6000/7000 cpu and no more than a gtx 1060 6gb. the psu is unsafe for anything that requires more power

also don't buy new rams.
1. 8gb is enough
2. if you mix rams it'll operate at the speed of the slower one with no guarantee
3. it's a h110 board
4. minimum benefit

I think since ryzen 3000 is coming out soon, I’ll just wait abit for people to sell off their ryzen5 1600 and see if there’s any good deal for a compatible mobo. Right now I’ve already gotten myself a 1060 6gb
