After installing new RAM, PC keeps rebooting

Motherboard MS-7613 (Iona-GL8E)
RAM 2 x Hynix HMT125U6TFR8C-H9 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600U-9-10-B0 (4GB)
Windows 10 64-bit

I bought two Kingston KVR13N9S8/4 (4GB) few days ago to add more RAM. After installing the new RAM, my PC now keeps booting, never pass the initial booting/checking configuration. I try to change DIMM slots, remove the old memory sticks and just install the new memory sticks. Result is the same.

Do I miss anything after installing the new RAM, e.g. upgrade BIOS or configure settings?

Try manual setting for ram to match your new Kingston memory.

I checked with Kingston distributor Convergent Systems and was told the memory module was not compatible with the motherboard, and should install
KVR1333D3N9/4G instead.

Did the explain why it's incompatible? You used 2 of the same RAM right? I don't really understand why it's incompatible with your mobo; never heard of ranks being a factor for incompatibility before

The reason for the incompatibility is partially due to the RAM speed/frequency. I had same encounter before. Certain motherboard cannot accept RAM with 1600mhz and only has to be 1333mhz.

yeah but both the ram op listed were 1333mhz.. only main difference is the rank, which as far as I'm aware, is not supposed to have an impact on mobos assuming you're not mixing ram

edit: turns out high density single rank RAM is incompatible with the earlier Ibex Peak chipset that supports LGA 1156... In short, if your mobo doesn't support 8gb ram sticks, it probably won't support single rank 4gb ram sticks. interesting. the more you know I guess

Yeah, I was told the mobo chip was too old to support the new RAM module KVR13N9S8/4, hence, should use older KVR1333D3N9/4G instead
