Aftermarket CPU Cooler

Need some help here. I'm thinking of getting an aftermarket CPU Cooler. I would be changing the stock fans to either Gentle Typhoon AP-15 or Akasa Viper.

Question is, is the cpu cooler dependant on the fan's ability, such as static pressure, etc, or the design of the heatsink block? Presuming i will be getting those with 4 pipes, and fans will be PWM-ed.

Was thinking of getting H80i, but on second thoughts, may be overkill for non-OC.

And to ur question, the heat sink and the fan both affect the cooling ability. Get static pressure fans for heat sink. Noctua fans are good and quiet. NF-12 if I'm not wrong for static pressure

Dont need ba if non oc. Get a better heatsink with copper head will do.

yeah... finding one good and cheap heatsink which allows me to mount other fans, and up to 2 fans..

Normally those HSF that allows more then 2 fans mounting may cost above S$50.

Deepcool Forstwin is 2 fans. You can see if their GammaX 400 allows for dual fans.

i read that for better conduction, it would be good to minimise the space between each copper heatpipe or dun put 2 diff materials together, in this case, copper and alu at the base.

i'm looking at the Hyper 212 EVO, which have 4 pipes joined together, thus reducing the chances of heat being trapped in between...

btw, can i count this as similar to a rad? and i need to get high static pressure fans?

I'm about to hoot a 3770k to OC with Z77A-GD65 gaming for video editing work. Intending to reach about 4.2~4.4Ghz with after market cooler of course. Planning to put in h80i, would it be sufficient? First time OC-er and so on here..

Yes. But how much you know about water cooling? Are you willing to live with those risk?

Leakage. Although the current close loop ones are relatively safe. But lemon law applies.

Radiator mainataince. Since it is toegther in 1 piece. Might need to remove all and put back toegther again.

As long you dont mind. It is perfectly ok. I am going to try it for my next rig too. Be careful a little and read up on the common issues that may cook up you will be fine.
