How come Aftershock seem to have a perpetual promotion of "up to" SGD400 discount?

Still got a lot more, and even after these IT/PC shows end the website still will say up to SGD400 discount.

Misleading consumers? If forever got promotion then it's not promotion right.....

It's just marketing material. Don't read too much into it.

Seems like their marketing is successful if you had thought that there will be a $400 discount. The real keyword is "up to" which ranges from $0.01 to $400.

Marketing 101 FTW!! Lol

It's all ********. You can go to the floor and ask which one give the $400 discount, no one knows. Their prices never drop during IT shows also. But they do put in better/bigger SSD for same price.

Usually, the more expensive the product, the bigger the discount. Then again, rrp and discount price are set by seller, so who knows. Lol

During special occasions, they give free SSD upgrades etc. Otherwise, they just give "free" thermal compound upgrade and screen calibration. So in that sense, they are still providing something "free" or promotional.

Probably a bug/oversight on their part. They always take down their promos once IT shows is over. Seeing as SITEX just ended 3 days ago, its probably why they left the promo online up.

You wait till next week and go see their site again. SSD upgrades all gone. Not sure what exactly you trying to achieve with this thread when it's clear that in the recent past when there's no IT shows they never have the same massive promos.

Actually, some companies extend their IT shows promo till the end of next week rather than stop on Sunday, so as to try get more customers. Of coz, it will also comes with a "while stock last" t&c somewhere.

Just for awareness, nothing much. Recently started to follow Aftershock (1 year or so) so they appear quite frequently on my Facebook feed, but for some reason I did not buy their product.

After awhile I noticed that they always state "Up to SGD400 off/in discount" regardless of whether there is IT show or not (but I concede that I don't always go in and check whether there's actual discount - maybe they remove the promotion inside but keep the poster as clickbaits?).

If my observation is true, then I guess it's not exactly ethical for them to have some misleading advertisement but I'm sure they're not the only company that does this (but then again just because someone else does it doesn't mean you should).
