Aftershockpc, come in please.

If i select the HDD Caddy option, eliminating the optical drive, and install a 2.5" SSD on it. Will I be able to boot from the SSD?

I have a spare SSD lying around.

Any HWZ special for IT show for this PC? Sorry my PM is full. Got special please email me?

I think the timing of your query here is not good since the folks are busy with the ongoing IT show to monitor any threads on the forum. I think best to ping them on the chat on their website.

I am not 100% sure for M-15, but I am able to boot on the SSD that I have installed on my X17 through the caddy. I just need to set it as the boot drive in BIOS. I don't see why not on the M-15.

Hi tremor, we're pretty busy at the show and haven't be looking at the forum for the last 2 days.

You can install a caddy, move the normal drive to it, and put your ssd in the sata 3 bay. we can do it for you. Our specials are the same for all users.

We do not charge to insert your own ssd for you :)

If the laptop can read the caddy i don't see why cannot boot from there.
In layman terms. The reason to put ssd internally is cause the port is directly connected inside is to obtain maximum speed rather than read from a caddy with additional connection, might result in slower speed
