Hey guys so I'm obviously a tech noob here for advice and came across this rig from aftershock. I know the general consensus here is aftershock is overrated and other places might do better. But I want to know if you would consider this rig 'affordable' and recommend it? (extracted from their pre-built rig on their website)

Thought of buying 2 more pc from them, the FLOW and BOLT.

Main point to take note is if you need someone to troubleshoot ur pc, aftershock is ur only choice.

If u diy, u need to ownself troubleshoot then bring the faulty part only to respective distro. They will not/cannot help determine fault of parts from other distros.

DIY if you have some PC knowledge otherwise I feel Dreamcore/Aftershock might be your choice.

So, about 1k. Not a bad deal, but the A320 is obsolete liao

For $970 quite decent considering got 1st year onsite warranty from them.

But try to ask how much it'll cost to upgrade your 2x8gb 2666mhz to 2x8gb 3200mhz. I see from their website when I configure myself the price difference the two ram options is only $10.

If they're able to offer you the 2x8gb 3200mhz at $980 go for it.


Usually the difference between DIY PC and buying prebuilt from Aftershock is not really the price (DIY tends to be cheaper), but whether you need the onsite warranty service.

Although for this case, the price is really very competitive and worth getting over DIY PC.

Don't know what ** brand nvme, maybe oem.
Memory also brandless, can be oem as well.

The main thing is getting your CPU from amazon, take advantage of oversea pricing and international warranty. You could possibly find value for money ram as well on amazon.

I went to aftershock website to look up the same configuration and it was priced at $1075 instead of $970.

I know you can build a pc cheaper than Aftershock, but I feel aftershock is not charging too high of a premium (even before the 11.11 promo) for the on site warranty and the labour of fixing it up.

It's good for pc noob.

I can't say much for the laptop as I did not look too detail into it.

I got their ultra core. when they have their promotions the price is quite decent, not much premium over SLS. I haven't had any encounter with their customer service yet. most importantly is they have on site warranty, if you don't have the technical capability, or if you don't want to spend time troubleshooting, or if you don't want to send your own parts for RMA, ill say they should be ok.
