He's saying he is a tech noob and you still telling him to build himself.

Again, doesn't contradict what I wrote. Being a tech noob doesn't mean cannot assemble computer. It can just means no knowledge of current market. You are basically looking down on people sia.

Also
Is it possible to get this same rig at around the same price?

I not looking down on people. But we wont be there to help when the PC breaks down. TS will save alot of time, money and trouble when it happens.

Anyway i doubt he can build it for cheaper at PCT with everything spec to spec. Not even at TP and Dynacore.

He can go to PC Themes and get it assembled for cheaper.

This is not the issue. Read pls.
He is not good at IT. If do it at pc theme, if the pc goes haywire, he needs to diagnose the issue himself n send to rma. Zzz

Agree... unless that pc noob is willing to go thru the learning phase. Else pre built is the way to go.

When he encounter problem, none of us here is going to his/her house to troubleshoot for him/her.

Don't say Google can help, with Google you even need to know what term to start searching. There are people who thinks hdd/ssd are ram/memory.

i have fren whos good at IT too. but bought from Aftershock simply because he too lazy to fix any issues arises.

DIY at simlim or by yourself is not easy cos any issues need to diagnose yourself and very time consuming.

and the service he gotten was not bad. better than spending hours to solve it or having risk to not able to solve the issue.

and i also see the prices are quite reasonable and the parts i dont think got any OEM ones.

Gaining the knowledge to be able to diagnose and troubleshoot desktop is not something one can simply pick up overnight. It takes effort and lots of reading up.

Some just want the convinence of after sales support. Why not? Don't see what is wrong with that.

PCT will rma or replace for him? So good ar
But troublesome to carry the whole cpu down though...
Price not much different. Would still go for dynacore or aftershock.

I actually don't think they will RMA on your behalf. More like they can help you troubleshoot. I may be wrong though since I don't get the shops on SLS to build it for me. To be honest, I agree that Aftershock don't charge much premium despite providing full after sales support, including part replacement.

Knowing how to put a PC together doesn't mean a person know how to troubleshoot PC either. If not, why so many people ask about what's wrong on their PC despite they DIY it?

Knowing how to troubleshoot PC can already land a person a job in the support sector.

You don't need to know troubleshooting to know how to assemble.

They RMA a MB and CPU for me before. Replaced on the spot with new pieces

been looking around as well. the aftershock offerings are very legit. prices are sometimes even better then buying the parts separately and you get support instead of having to troubleshoot yourself.
for 1k, i dont think u can do much better for a 1080p gaming desktop.
