DIY would be cheaper but there would be no Onsite service, if parts spoils, you will have to RMA yourself

Iirc this version they come out is the WC setup though, not sure of the actual pricing.

Anyway what's your budget? 3k? Usage for this PC? Need games running on 4k max settings?

it's stupid to watercool but no overclock

skylake is more limited by safe voltage than safe temperature , so the advantage of water cooling over air is very narrow ... about 100mhz only as seen @ overclock.net forums ...... the chips mostly top out at 4.6 - 4.7ghz be it air or water , there is thermal headroom for attaining higher speed but require unsafe voltage for 24/7 usage

Intend to game at either 1440p or ultrawide

Dun wan water cooled due to lack of knowledge for maintenance

The 4.4k price is SLI 1080. i think..

Went to their website to configure for single 1080 and air cooled ard 2.9k

Nv state the psu used thou.

if this is so, single Gtx 1080 can do the work, dun need to SLI. but still depends on which games u playing, u can look out for the post "Various 1080p" to look out for benchmark on the games u playing.

so that means u wanna go for 4.4k budget?

Nah 4.4k abit too much lol. Heard SLI not worth it $/fps

Thanks thanks.

Actually wanted to custom at SLS. The aftershock rig seems reasonable. Saves the hassle of RMA and my lack of knowledge for troubleshooting for faulty parts is also an issue.

I'm considering Aftershock as well. The after sales support is worth the extra rather than going to RMA yourself.

if you cant diy, yes, by all mean go for Aftershock, rather than other branded brand which cant let you specifically choose what parts you want.
Heard that Aftershock has very good support

For me, I go for DIY cause i can easily go RMA the parts myself, I know how to troubleshoot, can upgrade parts by parts, money save can be used for a lot more stuff

If u know how to troubleshoot and go ram youraelf, I think it's worth to go DIY yourself, otherwise just get from aftershock and have them troubleshoot for u by paying that service support.

True. What's holding me back is the lack of choice for the chassis. Don't really like NZXT. Will call them to check if I can change the casing.
