It is the back end hardware and software development that requires investment

thus far, AI companies still not able to figure out how to recoup their massive investment costs. Nobody willing to pay high prices to use AI

heard on radio that the latest samsung got smart AI or similar.

When someone message you want to meet for dinner on a certain date and time and place, and you ok with it, the phone is smart enough to auto add the event into your calendar reminder, or something like that, without you personally type in.

Both convenient and scary at the same time....

TS is boomer ah
otherwise is middle aged that fallen out with the era liao

chatgpt is just one type of generative AI that employs large language model. there's much more to AI than just LLM...

predictive AI is one... feed it a huge complex dataset and ask it to make a prediction. for stock trends. or for medical diagnosis. but you may or may not be able to interpret or understand how reliable the prediction is or how the prediction is even derived...

automation is another part of AI...

agentic AI is a combination. e.g. i create an agent to integrate multiple office programs, have them communicate and even automate tasks based on different scenarios (e.g. keywords in the emails). while i lim kopi. dont even need to read emails anymore

or another example of agentic AI. where i can combine LLM to serve the user and receive raw data for predictive AI to ingest and provide a prediction in a set template format for the user. and if needed, automate the dissemination and followup of the results...

this is the true power of AI...

aiya... chatgpt is just the tip of the iceberg...

Generally and simplified for understanding:

AI = Models/Engine + Data + Infrastructure + Applications + Governance

AI can be:
- Software feature
- API service
- On-premise system
- Embedded in hardware
- Or SaaS

Most companies adopt AI through SaaS first because:
- Lower cost
- Faster
- Less risk
- No need hire AI engineers

Examples (AI through Software As A Service-SAAS):
- OpenAI (ChatGPT subscription)
- Adobe Firefly AI
- HubSpot AI tools

So what is AI?
give you an example:

1.) I describe to you a cat is a small, furry, four-legged pet with a long tail, soft fur, and pointy ears. You learn the criteria of how a cat looks like. When I show you a pic of a small animal, you tell me whether it's a cat ==> this is not AI (traditional programming)

2.) I show you 10,000 cat pics and you learn what a cat is supposed to look like. When I show you the next pic, you tell me whether it's a cat. ==> this is AI (machine learning)
