I've got a AIA Prime Life Plan 10 yrs back with no CI.

If I am thinking to get CI plan, am I able to add into my existing plan or I need to get a new plan by itself?

Any advise?

TIA!

Not a FA myself, but I always advise my friends to get CI attached to their plans. Becos u don't need much $$ when you are dead, but u need it most when u are struck with a CI.

Check with your FA whether a CI can be attached. Bottom line is know what you are buying. GE has a early stage CI , which I bought and I think it is the only one in the market (i.e. can pay at stage 0 and 1).

Correction, there are many companies out there now with Early C.I policies.. Each has their own pros and cons so it will be good if you can do some comparisons and find out which one is the most suitable for your situation.

Yup, there are many early CI plans available in the market now.

It is possible to attach a rider to the policy, but it depends on how many more years you have left to pay your premiums

Take note early CI rider premiums are not cheap. Insurance companies have buffered the risks of claims. If u still want a early CI rider... make sure u ask your agent if the premiums are guaranteed renewal or subject to market revisions.

It should be possible to add on a rider, but you would have to go back to your AIA agent to do that since it's quite an old plan already. Do take note that even if you are able to add a rider on that plan, premium will be based on your current age so you might want to compare with what's available in market
