I am buying whole life insurance and now down to 2 options.
I see in term of premium, both are not much different.

I would like to ask if anyone has experience in claim, how easy/difficult to get $ from both insurances when something happened?
Thanks.

Um, you do realize that whole life insurance pays a death benefit, and thus only survivors can file claims, not insured policyholders...right?

Would you also like to know of our experiences dwelling inside an urn or a casket? :D

Maybe you'd like to rephrase the question.

Yes, that’s included family file claim.

Let me guess, a non-Income agent told you that NTUC very hard to claim even for death of insured, that they don't accept the death certificate, and they will only pay after their expert assessors Mulder and Scully come down to examine the body?

And the sales agent might also have done a great job pushing questionable insurance products in the circumstances.

Not really a non-Income agent, but a colleague. She said not buying Income because more difficult to make claim. That's why I am looking from more broad audience

Hi,

Your colleague probably heard from other people or her (non-Income) agent as well.

Income. Easy or difficult to claim depends on individual. If you (or the claimants) have read and understood the Policy Contract well and know the conditions to be admitted for a claim and have the required documentation, you should be able to claim from Income. But do take note that if you have bought through an agent, there's a likelihood that the agent will quit eventually and u will have to liase with the call centre/claim department directly. Usually if the lower/junior staff can't get the claims settled, there's always the senior staffs which you can attempt to escalate the case to. Lastly, there's a SQ@Income which is pretty knowledgable and can address issues on a case by case basis and so far my encounters with them are positive.

AIA. Ah-hem. No thanks. Too tired to elaborate more.

My 2c.

Income has the hands down better product. As what soneat mentioned, how hard/easy to claim really depends on the proper steps done during the application. If there’s no other conditions that might question the nature, it should be a straightforward claim.

Actually all agents are crappy, non of them will fulfill their promise of serving you for life.

Learn to manage your own claims and paperwork.

when I bought WL and WL (CI) from Income, claim was never a consideration, most important is the returns. Who buy WL hoping to claim and worried about claims?

Even I buy ISP from Income, claim was never a consideraiton. Everything is automated and done by the hospital, except for Plus rider which I have to claim. Even that also no need to worry cos already paid, just wait to be reimbursed.

Now my WL earning 4-5% pa compounded, shiok!

I think for CI, you need to submit claim manually, correct?
I’m not really look at the bonus or return , as insurance is for protection

I have claimed from both coys. What is your concern though?

What type of insurance claim?
And how is your experience?
What I don’t like from AIA because claim must via agent, this is currently for my PA insurance

Sorry to piggyback on this thread. Currently i have some insurances that i bought many years ago from AIA, but i dont want to get any more plans from them. I am looking into CI, i can buy from other companies right? Should be no problem ya? Any pros and cons? Sorry if this is a dumb straightforward question.

Definitely u can buy from other companies. Different companies have different product that are good so it's best to read up on those.
