You order from nat aire? Hows the installation going so far
Nothing much to expect. They seems to know their work. Aroung 1 hour they dismantle my old A/C
Quite friendly. Showed me the stuff, like the NAtube 21G copper pipe, 1/2 " kemflex insulation, Keystone wire. I upgraded to these.

They are still working as I'm typing this.

I don't know how to tell the quality. Feels like the Armaflex, which I have bought before. I measred the thickness to confirm it's 1/2"

Buy from their website can get $400 Choice voucher for LG System 4 instead of $150, the the price is slightly cheaper too. ALl price shown are inlcusive of GST.

ANyway no more choice voucher for me, as I changed to Daikin, which is only $50 fairprice and 3 years part warranty.

if i am using a system 4 for a 4room bto, but the living room space is expanded due to open concept kitchen, will this 12k fcu btu come in handy?
Well, there is no advantage honestly . If you're supposed to get a 9k, you'll end up with a 12k and screw up the humidity. If you need a 12k, then good for you, you get it at the price of the 9k. If you need more than 12k, then this 12k will not be enough for you. Open concept area, I predict need abut 30k perhaps? Maybe need 2 units. Cos living room and esp kitchen are high heat zones.

How does oversizing the FCU leads to humidity problem?

Fcus are designed to cool the room and at the same time remove humidity.
They work by passing warm air through the cooling coil and decreasing its temperature. When the air cools, its ability to hold moisture decrease as well. Eventually the air cools so much until it can no longer hold all the moisture, and it reaches saturation (relative humidity = 100%). All the excess moisture condenses on the cooling coil and drains away. (if you have water dripping issues, this is where the water comes from)

In an ideal situation, a properly sized fcu will run for about half an hour to cool the room AND at the same time dehumidify the air. If your fcu is oversized and cools the room too quickly and shuts off too early, then you can imagine the dehumidification process is not very complete.

In summary, oversizing fcu leads to higher than ideal humidity levels

Quick question, how much does it usually cost for installation of 3 units to one compressor plus change of ceiling pipes (the pipes are worn out and leaking so need to change)?

Got a quotation of 4K+, is this reasonable? The guy said can finish the job in about half a day or so. Need some advise.

11 x 10 feet room using 12k btu fcu even if oversize the inverter will keep cooling the room as long as i dont set the temp higher than the weather? eg: 9k btu temp set at 25c compressor runs 24/7 but not always at 100% depends on the weather temp, 12k btu fcu same except compressor will run a lot slower when the weather temp is lower, unless 12k btu cause the compressor to totally shutoff i thought inverter compressor won't stop like rotary?. i need to maintain humidity at 42% +10% variance.

I don't quite understand what you're saying, as your English isn't very clear. I take it that by 'weather' you mean the 'room temperature', or the 'thermostat temperature'.

You are right that with inverter technology, the compressor will not fully start/stop unlike non-inverters. The brushless DC motors allow varying of compressor speed to support varying cooling loads.

What this means for the FCU is that, once the ambient temperature reaches the thermostat temperature, the refrigerant flow for that FCU will be reduced. Thereby, the cooling rate for that room will be lessen, and so will the rate of moisture removal too.
That means to say, if the FCU switches from 'cooling mode' to 'sustain temperature' mode too early, the rate of moisture removal will decrease prematurely.

It is not possible (for ordinary residential air conditioners) to control both humidity and temperature, as they are inter-related. As such, air-conditioners are only designed to be dependent on the ambient temperature, leaving humidity as the uncontrollable effect.

If you have strict humidity requirements for your environment, my suggestion will be to either get a dehumidifier in your environment, and/or use a hygrometer to monitor the humidity level.

The floor beneath me complaint my out door unit is dripping water and causing his unit to spoilt... Is it ok if i fix a tray with drainage pipe to the bottom of my compressor outside... The tray is not for collecting water but to divert water to the wall...

Gain city and courts are always going to be slightly more expensive. But they are most convenient too. They have a storefront you can go and learn more about the multiple brands.

Cheaper dealers can be found online. Go do a quick Google and you'll find them.

Starmex is a reputable brand. You will not go wrong with it, although there are several other good brand too. All down to your price point and cooling capacity requirement
