Practically, is there a difference between the cool and dry modes? I've read up on how they work and it seems like dry mode saves more energy. However, I find that my room is cooler on dry mode as compared to when I set to 26C all day long. The dry mode doesn't have a temperature control on the remote. I'm using the Daikin ftks25dvm fan coil.

If the dry mode does indeed cost less than the cool mode at 26C, then I should probably leave in it dry mode 24/7, right?

the number of tick is base on the electric efficiency and the calculation is base on 8hr per day base on the system you have?

example 4 tick system 3 and $649 means 1 day 8 hr on 3 aircon bill = 649?

The tick is based on electrical consumption in that particular system x category. Not electrical efficiency.

Anyway the cost is an annual cost, estimated at running all fan coils in the system for 8 hours a day.

This simply goes to show that your comfort level is more dependent on humidity than temperature.

Dry mode works similarly to cool mode, except that it lowers the refrigerant flow and reduces the fan speed within the fan coil. The aim now is to extract as much moisture from the air as possible, and not to lower the temperature. To do that, the duration of air flowing over the cooling coil will be increased to improve the moisture extraction.

The compressor will still be used although at a decreased load, as there is not much heat energy transfer.

The point of aircon is to keep you comfortable right? So use whichever mode that makes your feel the best. Unless you have devices/objects in the room which needs temperature or humidity control. Then pick your mode as per required.

That being said, dry mode does indeed consume less electricity per unit time, compared to cool mode. But that doesn't mean you should run it 24/7 either. The compressor needs to rest.

Hi guys need some suggestions! House aircon broken dwn recently, wanna install another aircon fancoil in the living room as well.

System 4: Living room - 1x24k + 3 diff rooms - 3 x 9k

or

System 3+1 - similarly 1x24k + 3 x 9k

Which setup will be more ideal? My living room is abt 44sqm. Each room is abt 14-18sqm.
Currently, the aircon guy recommend me system 4 coz no need to do additional socket for another compressor.

This is becoz the way i used the aircons will be something like this:
Living room: on during noon till 10pm at most. Mainly for my mum who is at home.
Room 1: Usually will on when I am bck at home after work in the evening/nite. Will set timer for sleep.
Room 2: For my parents, will set time for sleep as well.
Room 3: Will be left idle, all most will not be switching on the air-con

In conclusion, there will be only 2 aircon being switched on most of the time.
My worries for system 4 is that living room would not be as cooling if the room's aircon is on at the same time, not sure if this a valid point.
Would be great if anyone can suggest which system will be better for me. Thank you.

Outdoor condensor placement

HI,

I just got a new bto flat and just had Daikin system 4 installed today.

Outdoor condensor is placed so close to the aircon ledge grille (away from the wall) such that it is kissing it .

Is this normal ? Will there any implications ?

Cannot seem to post pictures here though..

I rather that, than the back sticking to the wall and affect air intake. Personal recommendation is make sure it doesn't touches the grill to prevent vibration sound. Otherwise its okay.

Hi guys,

I've recently started on my renovation and have engaged JK aircon specialist to install aircons for my whole house. Super love their services!! The installers are not only fast and efficient, they are well-trained and taught us quite a few tips on how to care and maintain our aircons.

Will definitely recommend you guys to engage them!

Just received the certificate of installation with the Expired Warranty Date stated for all my Fancoils and Compressor from Daikin, those who bought Daikin in June should have received yours too.

I have also connected all my Fancoils to the Daikin App which I can monitor and control the air-con even when I am outside. =:p
