Does anyone know which aircon contractor is familiar with Woodsvale Condo?

Reason being is my current aircon has gas leakage, and need to run new piping. All the pipings are concealed at the false ceiling.

Woodsvale condo.
2 x Daikin invertor 3mk75fven.
1 x 3mk75fven to 2 x ctk45fven serving living and dining room.
1 x 3mk75fven serving 3 bedrooms.
Guess yr 3 bedrooms system got gas leakage. Operation light blinking every now and then to indicate gas shortage.
Btw, Daikin 3mks50esg (R410A) is made in Thailand.

Guys,

Need your expert advice here :D

I am deciding between:
Daikin - Inverter Sys-3
3MKD75DVM / 3 x FTKD25DVM
3 x 7,847Btu/hr
$2,708.00
with $150 Trade-in -> $2,558.00

OR

Daikin - Non-Inverter Sys-3
MA56EV1 / 3 x FT25DVM
3 x 6,073Btu/hr
$1,914.00
No Trade-in

My usage pattern - only at night - 6-9hrs per-day, 1-2rooms at a time.

And what pipe and insulator should I choose that would last at least 5-7years? :)
Appreciate the reply ^_^

I heard Daikin only has 1 motor? is that true?
There are some compressors having 2 motors, and the 2 motors type is said to be much more long lasting since only 1 motor will be on if it is for 1 room. so more efficient. Not sure how true is this as well.

I am also looking for a Non-inverter Sys3, still trying to look at which brand is good.
Any recommendations for Sys3 non inverter?

yup.. under "compressor type", if there got "TWIN" word, means is 2 compressor inside. if didnt, than it is one.

having 1 or 2 compressor inside, it depends on yr usage n also hav advantage n disadvantage too.. but than getting one wit 2 compressor inside consumes more electricity.

Hi all,

I would like to buy new aircon for 3bedrooms + 1study room. 2bedrooms will be using 8hours+, then 1bedroom + study room will not be using frequently.

My unit already have 40Amp main incoming. Condenser got to install with bracket. Could I install 2sets of system 2 aircon, or must get a system 4 aircon?

How much HP should I look into? Thanks.

those wit 40amp, max is 2 outdoor unit.

does your house hav aircon ledge or service balcony?

but than if sometime u wil be using the 3rd bedroom n study room, it would be efficient to hav system 4.

Hi chunlianghere,

Thanks for respond. Ok, i will look into system 4 inverter. Any model to recommend?

My unit has a service balcony. Doesn't it mean, condenser need to place at there to save bracket cost? Because I saw other units install at outdoor with bracket.

Thanks again.

u can choose to install bracket or not to install in service balcony. jus need u to know that if u wan to install outside, u hav to get approval from HDB, which means quite troublesome.

becos service balcony is inside your own house, so no need approval one..

from your usage pattern, getting non-inverter is gd enough. actually default installation from manufacturer is gd enough, which can last many years. but if u wan to feel safer, than 1/2" insulation.

IMO, gettin non-inverter is better.
firstly, becos from the whole nite u on the aircon, there is some time can let the compressor/outdoor unit take a rest.
secondly, it can save u $$$ when there is problem wit other parts after 1 year. n than the ppl who knw how to repair/very gd in repair inverter r very few. so if u suay, than it wil become more worse.

but well, if u feel tat inverter r better n tat u like more functions built inside inverter, jus go ahead ba. i nv say inverter r not gd.:D

lastly, it depends alot of things, eg. usage, system-?, n many other factors.

Thanks Chunliang, from ur replied to me, I know I have few options to mount the condenser.

But from ur replied to Mike, could I get a non-inverter system4.
Master bedroom + 1bedroom will on aircon at night 8hours+, but 1bedroom + study room will not be using aircon frequently.

But there are chances when all room using aircon together.

Thanks bro!

I might go for non-inverter most probably, as I have inverter for my living room, and I dont see much diff in terms of cooling nor other feature that non-inverter doesnt have.

mypj_88 bro , changing your aircon as well isit? Mine I think almost 10years leh.. current sys-3 brand is National, too old already =:p
Another alternative is, do it like my setting: get sys3 for bedroom and sys1 for your living room.

Time to call those shops! :D

but if u were to on all the room at the same time using non-inverter, Daikin MA56EV1, it wil not be very cool, n wil take a very long time to get to the temperature. UNLESS, u on 2 room 1st, than an hour later(depends u set wat temperature), u on the rest, than it is ok..

but well, like yr normal usage wit 2 rooms every nite, n sometimes all the rooms, it is alrite to get tat.
