To The_King,

Best is paint wall first then install equipment.
Thats why need 2 trips, 1st trip to run piping.

To jaxel80, u confirm went to c @ Gxxn Cxxy.
Only they sell Hitachi in the market if i am not wrong.
Toshiba not as popular as compared to Daikin/ME/Panasonic. (IMO)

To jaxel80,

I will suggest Panasonic in similar price range.
Extended warranty, u have to read the terms & conditions carefully.

aircon piping

Hi Terumo, AC experts,

My 12 yr old aircon konked out and need replacement. I engaged an AC man for site survey and due to my concealed piping I decided to reuse the piping. One of my common rooms is using 1/2 inch for gas line and now we are replacing it with a Starmex 9000 BTU. I read the specs for starmex that gas line size should be 3/8 inch. The AC man said no problem. Is this correct? Or this will be a nightmare in the future in case he manage to connect it?

Thanks in advance.

To Zangetsu,
Duh worry, ur budget of $1k should be enough for single system inverter 9k btu.

To efs_user,
1/2 is bigger then 3/8 so no issue.

Dear Terumo,

I am thinking of installing zircon in my condo, 2 bedrooms at 9k btu each, and living + dining 12k btu. Daily usage is probably 4 hrs each. Do you recommend inverter? TIA.

Looking for new System 3 aircon to replaced old LG aircon which knock off.

Hi,

Anyone have any suggestion which brand of System 3 inverter Aircon is better and reliable. We went to GC and they reccomended Hitachi and in Courts we saw the Sharp and all have their selling point but for us we just want aircon that is reliable and cost effective. Both are almost the same price at $2800.

Hope to hear from you guys.

To motosies,

4hrs daily, i feel that non inverter will be enough as usage not high.
Can check out Daikin Ma56 model.

Thank you so much Terumo. For non-inverter, is Daikin better than Panasonic? A quiet system is my priority.

Hi, currently using panasonic system-1 in my 3rm flat @ commonwealth. Was intending to get another system-1 for my common room.. however my aircon contact told me HDB cannot install 2 outdoor compressors. Is this true?

I will be calling HDB tomorrow, thought to ask here in the meantime. Thanks!

to nakashima_mika,
If 3 rm or 4rm hdb, cant install 2 compressor.

to motosies,
I feel that non-inverter Daikin n Panasonic price similar, so get Daikin will be better.

Hi,

I would like to check whether extended warranty for A/C serve a purpose..

B'cos from what I observe .. even though it's under warranty .. the technicians will charge quite a lot for labour

Get a contractor surveyed my apartment and he recommend 2x1200 btu for 2 bedrooms and 24000Btu for living/dining, laying of pipe with 3/8 insulation, surface trunking, s/s bracket, 2x Daikin ma56,at $4,800. It seems the price is on the high side?
