To elginlye,

Topping up gas once every 2 years is still acceptable.
I think you can ignore it and just top up.
If it happens < 6 months once, then maybe you can consider to do some repair works to it.

Sigh, previous gas top-up last < 1mth, left 4 bar.
Considering leak-test to determine if leak is due to
- equipment (4yr old Mitsu sys4)
- piping (95% new R410a piping, <10% reuse R22 piping).

Is it usual for piping leak to develop so quickly/suddenly over 2 months?

I was looking to ask this question also. But thanks to Kinsim for answering. I always put my aircon at 25 degrees with low fan speed. I was worried if I increase my fan speed the compressor might work hard and more electrical bills incurred :o

If you want find the correct answer from inverter model, when turn to high fan speed these was instant change speed from compressor spining speed and also fan motor speed as well.

You can hear the compressor works like high JET speed as a aircraft kick on.

But won't be maintain that high jet speed on full time, jus to reaching to suit as cooling the room for while only.

Once the cooling was enough then still turn to low speed to keep as maintain on what pre-set temp. degree as what you set from.

To Jeremy1,

Higher fan speed will help to increase airflow and cool down the room faster which will actually saves energy bills.

Hi I am intending to install aircon for 3 bedrooms and living/dining room. Noted that the suitable capacity for bedroom is 9kBTU and living/dining room is 24k BTU. Based on the requirements, how big should the CU BTU be, (3x9k + 24k) BTU? Will the aircon w CU capacity of 24kBTU takes longer time to cool down the rooms if i turn on the aircons for living and any 1 of the bedroom, as the total BTU exceeded the capacity of the CU.
