Got 2 cities that you can monitor (visiblity). Padang and Pekanbaru.

Padang is some 400km away from the smoke hotspots. Also could dip to 500m visiblity. (!!!) The smoke haze stretches all the way past 300km into the Indian Ocean past Taman Nasional Siberut. It's the same distance from here to Penang! (nearly 800km)

LOL! The totobobo mask is just selling near my place at Tg Pagar Plaza. But still won't beat the cost of Amazon's 9210 last year 8-9 dollars per box of 20, went down to as low as 7 dollars which I grabbed a few). But I guess the sole advantage for most of us is that it can fit small children/toddlers (which even the 1860S would have issue fitting without bypass issue)

But really for fun nia, I don't see the need for a laser particle counter.

Yep, and small features like temp/humidity....some modes etc. Nothing much. And of coz design....the A40/D50 and D40/D50 series are nice looking.

Do you use your humidifier in your room?
I think aircon + air purifier maybe too drying.

Been using my honeywell last 2 nights. Nose allergy symptoms improved in morning. Air is really bad in estates with lots of construction.

I have to say u have to be prepared for the noise. I use a honeywell 17000 which is supposed to be much quieter anecdotally compared to the 50250.
Though honeywells have no official Db rating, i would say the honeywell 17000 on low setting is about the equivalent of my 16 inch stand fan on High setting in terms of noise.

There's one of the major reasons why 17000 is 4.5 stars on amazon. and 50250 is 4 stars.

That's one of the reasons why i'm still shipping a 17000 via CGW here for my parents instead of a 50250 directly thru amazon. If u plan to use the 50250 in the living room, then i would say go ahead. But i think it's going to be quite noisy in a enclosed room.

Honeywell 17000

Hi,

For those who is using the Honeywell 17000, care to share/post a pic of your transformers?

Wanted to get one but the huge transformer is turning me off.

Any other alternative?

eh i dunno yet. the 17000 is enroute to CGW.
I estimating around 80-100 USD.

This is actually my 3rd 17000. My 1st one it died after i used a 100W transformer and after it tripped my house circuit breaker. It died. I guess i'm quite honest, didn't try to return it to Amazon as a faulty product though retrospectively i'm tempted lol.
Then i ordered another one but it arrived after the haze lol.

People ask me why i still buy 17000.
Well, simple & stupid reason is that i have bought a lot of charcoal pre-filters and i even bought the replacement HEPA filter already that time during the haze. Haha why i bought so many? Cos' my original plan was to have about 3-4 of them divided between my place, my parents and my inlaws.
So just trying to utilise my prior overinvestment.

but free shipping by amazon stopped. But for the above reasons, i'm still shipping another one over.

I'm using a super 300w. I dun think it's PSB rated. It was something i asked my dad to go down SLT to get for me.

The super won't trip the mains if got problem.
Its about the size of 2 large laptop power bricks combined.

17000 by right i know some people in another forum are using the Newstar 230w to run it. I think that's adequate actually.

Yes it's a turn off. But it's just on the floor. I guess it is a safety hazard if children are around when it's on.

It does have a strong plastic smell but it's the same for the other purifier I have. The smell will go away eventually

Like another bro mentioned, the permanent washable filter is not considered as a True Hepa filter.
I bought this mainly to trap dust.
Really want good one, go for BlueAir or IQAIR

The photos are poorly taken, but the set is actually beri nice.
It have some ambient lights at the bottom which you can switch on at night.

Maybe I take one at night and upload it tomorrow.

It's not tall. Less than 1 meters in height.
The controls are really touch screen.

I'm not looking at novita currently.

But for sharp,

If room not big, can divide into humidifier or non humidifier type from sharp
21m2 = FUY30E or FUZ31E (i dunno the difference between the 2), Humidifier type would be KC930E
$200+ range.

26m2 = KCA40E or D40E (All humidifier). The A50E can probably use for a small living room.
$400-500+ range

I would say for now, i think the honeywell 17000 price advantage has significantly reduced compared to the last haze period since no more free shipping for amazon for the 110v version. So i think i would prefer to buy local Sharp vs maybe the Samsung which i see on Qoo10 which looks quite good as well.

No, I didn't experience it on my set yet. Maybe I observe it for a few more nights to be sure
