tough choice

i wanted to buy xiaomi ap despite the loud noise but i end up buying samsung ap.The delivery time for xiaomi ap is longer..if buy from local ready stock, $50 more expensive.

I am thinking of getting the 3M filtrete and cut to fit it into the AX40.

Will this work and let the filter last longer?

I got dogs at home and think their fur/hair will get stuck in the AP filter..

It comes with a pre-filter netting so no issue with pet hair.
Filtrete put on AC bah... just let the HEPA do it's job? Now sure how much would the Filtrete affect the air flow.

Yes...its an ok machine with the biggest HEPA filter size ard so that it'd come in useful if you customise the china HEPAs from taobao. In fact i measured a 5% slight increase in airflow speed when i changed out the original LG HEPA to the customised taobao ones. (Original depth is 37mm, customised taobao is 45mm). It can take a max of 45mm if you still want to use the netting prefilter.

Mine is display set from HN lah....everything good as new and used denatured alcohol (careful..can ruin plastic surfaces, test first) to clean.
269 can buy. Qoo10 cheapest is 278.

I rem last time quite long time ago, Best denki got one maroon Sharp KC-860 which is a v powerful unit that was going for 299 only. Display set but condition average only. All these are workhorses and keep going for at least 10yrs..and are energy efficient. Matters a lot if used daily for 10yrs.

I haven buy the AP but will get it later. Can SIC the taobao link for the Hepa filter?

only certain models of their original Sharp filter are on sales...

mine one dont have it... otherwise I get a Taobao already unless I can cut to size...

or should I break the purchase into 2 different shipments?

and do you really need to buy a plug adaptor, or can just force into our wall plug?

Btw, how you guys place your AP?
I always place the back (Filter) side facing out as I have this thinking that if i do that will suck in more air to purify? haha.

But abit ugly coz i put near the wall area.

No difference, best is use your aircon / fan to mix the air in the room around, in high fan speed. Fastest way to drop the ug/m3 concentration.

Measured before.

Just deduct approx. 85% from the airflow nia.

Next time go taobao and get the replacement HEPAs, theirs is about 97-98% as measured. Customise etc......

Since Daiso is from korea.as long as your total purchase is over $400, u re require to pay gst. qoo will collect the gst and pay sg custom for u.

Every doubling of APs = +3 dB. Xiaomi is in the 60+dB range (I read 70dB but I doubt it's that loud). AX40 is 45dB. There could be some errors. But safe to say, about 30-60pcs of AX40 = 1 pc of Xiaomi.

Pls buy only 1 x AX40 and 1 filter max. Not 1 AX40 and 2 filters.

Buying 2 APs would incur GST.

i searched and read that the filter dimensions are " Anyway, for those who are interested, the HEPA-13 portion of the Samsung AX40 is 1.5 inch deep "

so can go taobao order the replacement HEPA for my model FU-Y30E... and ownself cut as I cant find original ones at Taobao... getting it here will be expensive...

I have unpacked the LG PS-R459 (cousin model of the qoo10 LA-Q379SB) and measured the original LG HEPA vs Taobao HEPA windpseed.

I previously mentioned 1 page ago that the Taobao HEPA is + 1kph more than the ORiginal LG. This is incorrect, it should be 2kph, or +10%. This is in high speed. So whatever the Taobao HEPA loses in efficiency, it gains back in airflow. And the loss in efficiency (0.3 microns) is just like 3-4%. The higher airflow definitely more than enough compensates back. No noticeable increase in sound levels.

In medium speed is also +1.7kph with the Taobao HEPA. This works out to be +10% over the original LG HEPA.
