so basically its relying on charged up air/ions to suck in dirty air towards the unit
the discharged air escapes the unit

thats how its creating airflow on its own without a fan?

Not sure what kind of concept are they trying out. If it has no airflow moved over the collector plates, it's a totally flawed design then.

Electrostatic precipitators need fans as well.

See this, 1 min 30s.

cant really gauge from the video in their website also bcos i think it was done at corridor or some sort
the 1hr test. the psi reading hardly moved between 60-70.
if its a closed room. thats even worse.

and i think even if i blow a fan towards the unit wont be of much help? even if it does den i need AC+Fan+EP? lol

Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there any chance that a AX40, being a 60Hz unit would cause a fire etc? Other than knowing that it will run about 20% slower...

What is the additional risk over the standard local approved 50Hz?

The fan motor is a DC motor, no issues with frequency.

Good question. Answered before last year, but too long ago...... glad you brought it up again.

It has a Nidec 310 Vdc motor and is powered by a SMPS. The SMPS "would take the hit". The Vdc motor would not know and would not care.

I have been gunning the heck of it for 1.5 years. 72 hours no issue.

Lots of smoke alarms here also, ionisation + photodetector. 2 x 3kg ABC. Fire blankets. Smoke escape hoods.

PS. Extreme right = live and neutral. Middle cable red white blue is to the motor (control wire also I guess or something). Right socket grey cable is to the touch panel controls.
