Mine totally no smell at all. Maybe since day one I have already cut the filter and remove the Active Carbon. Cause I don't believe you can smell anything from hepa unless it leak.

Why remove active carbon?

I think i know the smell comes from where liao. It comes from the black rubber gasket of the hepa filter. Smells exactly like new tyres

Any picture to show where it is?

I am thinking, would the smell be another air pollutant rather than helping to clean the air...

When a glass is full, it overflows. Same for active carbon

i think the smell should be ok since normally no one would go so near the air inlet to smell it. i placed the purifier wif the air inlet opposite direction of me.

I only scared the smell is giving out another air pollutant rather than cleaning air.

Brand new also have a bit of smell in the beginning leh for me.

I dunno if this is a good experiment, but take out the filter and turn on the air purifier. After a short while, see if there's any more smell?

They changed the plastic bag from the clear one to their own black bag, there's probably some leak for the black bag.

i bought my air cube from them on 30 Sep...they ship it out on 7 Oct...That is according to a tracking number...it would reach Singapore today..most probably on Monday I would be getting it...Most probably they are overwhelmed with orders from Singapore..I bought the SN100C for around $100 or slightly below...So not so bad...

I bought the cheaper on without co2 measurement but take 1 week to send the item out for shipment is nonsense esp when you claim you have the goods.

and it looks they are just a middle man helping other people to sell.

Take out the filter & smell lo.
The black rubber gasket/frame of filter likely culprit.
& if the filter is white color, most likely bleached white

Xiaomi is using Toray H11 Japan pm0.3(99.3%)/pm2.5(99.99%) filter as per this video at 15min:10sec(quite informative, worth watching). Check out the oem Brand they use for other parts at 30min:30sec of video.

Also interesting to note, the top fan blade is 9-bladed symmetrically balanced(17min:58sec).

Apollo is the supplier for the filters at 41:15.

Any way balancing a fan is nothing special, it is done by everybody to reduce vibration and wear.
