I'll be moving to Singapore early next year for work related purpose . My project duration is 8 to 10 months but based on client requirement I might have to extend my stay ...

I don't have too many concerns but since this is my first extended stay outside the states I'm apprehensive . Moreover I have Asthma and have these room air purifiers (Go-Clair | Premium Air Purifiers with e2f technology.) running at home and on my office desk .

How is the quality of air there ? Is it common practice to use air purifiers in Singapore? I was wondering whether I need to carry couple of my air purifiers all the way there or whether its easy to buy one in a home appliance store .

It's only needed when Indonesia do their forest burning thingy. :s13:

Other than that it's pretty okay. But I don't have Asthma so let's wait for more responses.

Here's a wikipedia list of CO2 emissions by Country.

Thanks for the info ..I just checked the list ...

You have no idea how bad my Asthma condition can get...Even I had no idea until recently when I'd been to Beijing for a project meeting just a month ago .The one week there was nightmarish . I found it so difficult and had asthma attacks . I used masks and though there were these local air purifiers everywhere I kept having breathing difficulties and Asthma attacks . I guess that's when my pollution paranoia crept in ... My Singapore stay is for nearly a year so I just want to be on the safer side..

There are people who suffer from asthma in Singapore, and they seems to be doing fine. However, since we don't know what are the difference between their condition and yours, it would best for you to bring one of these over.

You could purchase one here in Singapore.

It would be more affordable right? I hear the Sharp models are the good ones.

That's what i was thinking but wasn't sure if air purifiers are affordable and available in Singapore because I felt maybe its not common as it is here in the states . Also I use this Clair BF2025 model (Clair BF2025 Air Purifier | Go-Clair which just cost me $160 when I looked online I didn't find anything cheaper. Also to be honest I'm someone who likes a balance of aesthetics and functionality so I don't want to use one of those normal big ugly looking air purifiers in my room and I'm unable to find anything as good as the one I have .

It is now more common, but I don't recall seeing the model which you have used. So, if needed, you can think about shipping it over.

The one I have is from novita Air Purifier NAP 611-i + FOC Filter Pack - PuriClean which I think is bigger.

I just checked the link you shared . Its not bad but I noticed that air purifier has 3 filters which need replacement but I think they are ionic filters right ? Its bound to further aggravate my condition since I have Asthma and I read online that these ionizers release ozone which is a lung irritant .

You are right the Clair model isn't available in retail stores in Singapore . I'll order it from the website. I just called the customer care number and they said they can provide me free shipping to Singapore . Guess I'll just take one along when I travel and based on the situation I can order more if required .
