Try taking the whole condo if you are wary about staying with someone (host).

yeah, actually if i do consider airbnb, will take the whole house but is it safe to take the whole house? ive not tried airbnb but frankly what is the difference between bkk hotels and airbnb

Airbnb properties are usually private condos, apartments or houses. If you don't need hotel facilities and amenities like room service, buffet breakfast etc and want to have a taste of living in a local environment, airbnb is ok.

Security is ok as most of these properties have security guards on 24/7 basis but if you need any help along the way, your airbnb host is the only person whereas in a hotel you can conveniently seek assistance at hotel reception. ;)

I suggest u try it, if only for 1 or 2 nights.

Pre-AirBnB (i.e. some years ago), I rented an apartment in Paris for 1 week. It's really really a good experience. Could go out sightseeing given the subway station is so near, for breakfast buy croissants hot from the oven at the bakery across from the apartment and cakes in the afternoon from a patiserrie 2-min walk away!!

anywhere near thonglo /ekkamai /phrom phong bts will do. being near to a bts can save you from alot of money, time & agony.
even though cab is cheap in bkk but getting stuck in a jam in sukhumvit road is no joke.

go to airbnb then khlong tan district then search along the BTS line/ Sukhumvit main road.

It depends on what kind of experience you want in Bangkok. If you prefer a local stay in a local neighbourhood or if you are looking a 3-4 bedroom suites, airbnb is good.

Otherwise, hotels in Bangkok will serve your needs as a Tourist. ;)
