You’d have to request to cancel, but can only be done on computer if I’m not wrong. Then u can get your money back in 15-20 working days, or Airbnb will just refund you as Airbnb credits to use for your next booking.

I would recommend to wait for the host to reply and check on the host’s cancellation terms and conditions first.

Just a thought; Most Japanese don’t speak English so it might be they are translating your queries and then trying to translate back their Japanese to English, so it will take some time. That is my experience with non english speaking hosts

email air bnb, they will be able to text your host & find out for you. We are paying them the service fee, that's what is it for.

Tomamu should be fully booked this period. Go back to the listing, if nobody mention about owner cancellation, probably no issue.

Are you asking something that the owner cannot or not willing to fulfill?

That’s bad.
Why do some people still take such risk to book for his ‘once-in-a- year / lifetime’ holiday?

TS & others should pray hard then.

Airbnb service is terrible actually.

Unlike sites like booking/agoda.
if you arrived at that place and host uncontactable or the house is terrible, airbnb wont exchange for you or refund.

the policy sucks quite badly...
however japan hotel is so expensive...
nowadays i book airbnb only choose "superhost" and those with lots and lots of reviews..

I use airbnb since the beginning, my 20+ stays can be concluded into this - Airbnb stay experience is dependable on the hosts. I have met good & bad hosts, hotels disguised themselves as airbnb n so on.

Sometimes the previous guests in your airbnb also can affects you. I kena in Hkg, host say she cannot do anything and airbnb tell me to find a place myself to stay for the night then try to come back to my airbnb booking tomorrow. Else I cancel whole booking and rebook another place. Both options are lousy.

Some even can cancel you on the last Min.

If you want to know my tip, if the difference btw hotel and airbnb is a lot then u book ur airbnb and a hotel with free cancellation just in case u kena play out. If the difference is small then just book hotel.

U can activate airbnb and they can contact the hosts n if there is no response, they can assist u from there.

I am a Toyoko Inn member.
Their rooms are mostly next to train / Shinkansen stations.

Bookings / bonus points / pricing are straightforward & reasonable price even in peak seasons.

不用自找苦吃和煩惱.

Hi TS,

Just contact AirBnB direct and ask for their help.

As someone has mentioned, the host may not be good in English so may take a while. And Airbnb will have their direct contact and will be able to help.

When is your stay by the way?

And yes, such experience is depending on hosts. My previous sstay the host respond almost immediately.

Because some people can't afford hotels, try booking a hotel in London or Paris close to the City Centre.

In any case, I agree with another member, if possible always choose a superhost. Although I gambled on a new host with zero reviews when I went to Paris before and everything went fine.

and you are having trouble finding the reason why people use Airbnb, so I gave you a general reason on why most people will use Airbnb, besides the other reasons like, more bigger rooms,a whole house fitted with amenities, flexible with number of guests etc :s39:
