I am assuming this is the right place to put this thread...

I move to this house ~3yrs ago... Install new aircon.... Prvsly no aircon...
Mitsubishi Starmex Inverter 2 Split

Done chemical wash once due to foul smell after a yr... Now okay alr
Done servicing 2/3 times only by company...
The rest I do on my own like cleaning the filters, the vanes and all...

Now a problem emerged...
Water leaking somewhere from the aircon...
Thought it was the PVC drain pipe... Open up and check that the coil pipes' are wet and dripping water...
The wierd thing is both my aircon having the same problem... The 2nd room even got water dripping from the plastic case covering the tubes and all...

Called the company i bought the aircon from to check if have warranty... Cz at that time assuming the coil needs to be changed... The clerk says that its because i rarely service... I have to agree with her that i rarely service due to time and laziness...

Usage of aircon:
Midday if hot
Whole night

Is the clerk saying the right thing? Should i get it serviced to fix the leaking problem? If yes, ill do it right away...

Company means the agent Mitsubishi Electric? If not, trust agent to diagnose and rectify as the charges are not much different from others. I got a quote from others that's more expensive than agent.

Whether agent or other specialist, it cost more than $100 (including transport) just for them to come down personally to diagnose the fault. Over the phone no use one.

Water leaking from coil can be due to air con gas not enough or somewhere gas leaking..it can also due to pipe chocking and the best way is to get someone to check it out rather than just doing the normal filter cleaning which doesn't help

So far I have managed to clear my own dripping aircon by flushing the drain pipe.

The dripping is usually caused by the backflow of water when the pipe gets choked up. Jelly will form after some time and if enough builds up the pipe gets choked.

Open up the plastic exterior, then unhook the vane. You will see the drain pipe connected by a clip. Undo the clip and you should see where the jelly build up is.

Remove the vane, give it a good wash then followed by flushing of the pipe with water. In my opinion, generous amount of water will do, no need detergent.

Of course out a pail under your blower to prevent turning your room into a swimming pool :s13:.

My aircon 10 yrs no problem. Once a while I shoot water into drainage pipe in the toilet. When the water flows out, you will notice jelly like substance if you are not flushing regularly.

Don't worry, this usually is air con pipe choked.
Call another company to come and check for you.
Normally dripping water is either pipe choked or coil freeze.
Coil freeze, switch aircon mode to fan not cool, prepare pail to collect water.
Pipe choked, switch off all aircon, use a vacuum cleaner with water type (not filter type) to suck the water from the end of the pipe. You will see many jelly things.

How to suck all the jelly stuff if the pipe runs through from 1 bedroom to the toilet?

Share how the service by groupon. Never try before.
You may need to tell them to do the sucking, if not they just simple wash, that's what I think.

It's either you get people to service regularly or do your own servicing like me.

In other words, you'll have to service any machine regularly.
