AirPlay to AppleTV

Question: using my iPhone 4, I'm currently streaming or airplay my vids to the AppleTV (2nd gen). The subtitles (.srt) shows up only on my phone and not the TV.

Any help?

Any help? Been researching online but can't find proper answers.

Hi,
you might want to check if the video is been cropped on the tv during air play.
If yes, it should be easily resolved by changing the picture format

No. The video playback looks normal. There's the 2 black columns top/bottom of the video cos it's wide screen. Dun think the subtitle got hidden.

Have you turned on airplay mirroring?

when e movie is playing, long press e silver center button on e remote. a menu shud appear to toggle e subs. or u can config e appletv to auto select n use a language of yr choice. this language settin has to be set when u encode e video with e sub.

1. on my iphone 4, i have airplay option. But there is no mirroring option unlike the screenshot on Apple site.

2. I have pressed long and hard on the centre button but there is no menu pop-up. And yes, my AppleTV config has been set to play captions and English language.


I'm suspect its cos i'm using an iPhone 4.

if I'm not wrong e subs will only work on appletv if u r playing m4v files with embeded subs. if yr file is e.g avi + same name .srt file in e same folder, menu does not show up at all.
although it will play e subs in e.g airvideo server app but subs disappear once u toggle airplay.
