SGD800++ for headphones, too expensive.

Same. Too big to bring around. And APP works well.

If it was cheaper, I will buy just for the trill of it

Actually quite expected for this price for an Apple-branded headphone. The Pro is already $379 and the Max being a headphone, surely commands a higher price.

High end B&O, Grado and Sennheisers could cost more. But those are like audiophile-type.

The Bowers and Wilkins PX7 cost about $500, uses carbon fiber and ballistic nylon materials

Bang & Olufsen H9s are maybe $700, machined aluminium and lambskin earcups. Their new H95s are even more expensive but have a higher standard of materials usage

The Max is EIGHT HUNDRED bucks and has earcups and a headband made out of MESH. Absolutely incredible.

It’s incredible how one can judge an unreleased product just based on description...

And it’s not like Apple forced you to buy it.

Have Apple invented some sort of magical mesh fabric that never tears?

My assumptions are entirely based on the materials the Max uses, not its sound nor its featureset. We already know most, if not all of the cool software stuff in the APP will make its way into the Max. That’s awesome, but that’s not my point of contention here.

We know what the cans are made of, mesh and aluminium. Mesh tears easily and stains. Even your cheap cheena 30-dollar headphone don’t dare use mesh earcups but I guess Apple knows better. Aluminium is going to scratch easily but that’ll be the least of your worries when you’re trying to keep all that mesh clean.

Also, that carrying case...why? Leave that mesh headband hanging out...guess what’s going to happen to it

Back to their old ways of making premium products and charging astronomical prices.

Not buying into this nonsense.

As much as there are haters all over the years, look at where Apple is now?

As long as there are enough enablers, it doesn’t matter what they do.

Similar to trump, but just that they are more popular than trump maybe

Then I guess you have failed to look at the knit mesh material combination used on the HomePods. It is one of best quality knit mesh material you can find anywhere. It will be used on the earscups of the AirPods Max as well as the headbands.

I dare say they’ll be much more comfortable and more durable than any of the mesh earcups out there.

Leather earcups will definitely be coming as part of the accessories for AirPods Max. Plenty of third party earcups and cases will be coming too. This is the beauty of Apple products.

The HomePod is a non-portable speaker meant for use in the home while the APM is a wireless headphone you can use out and about. It’s not like you even need to interact with the mesh covering on the HomePod but the APM will be stretched over heads, thrown into bags and subject to all the wear and tear portable cans go through.

I’m probably stretching too far into conjecture at this point so I’ll just defer to you. Mesh is mesh is mesh, is all I’m sayin’.

If they use the type of mesh found on Herman Miller chairs or other top end ergonomic chairs then it’s gonna be pretty durable
