Hi,

I was looking at Prism Q55 and then aiwa tv ads begin to appear in my FB.
I thought Aiwa brand was long disappear from the market, how wrong I was.
It seems for apple to apple comparison, the latest aiwa 55" 4K UHD matches the Prism Q55, except prism using Quantum IPS, Aiwa using IPS-DLED..
Prism on Android TV 10.0, Aiwa on Android 9.0....

Anyone make comparison between these 2 before or anyone using an Aiwa TV now?

BTW, I'm very afraid of backlight bleeding from IPS panel...which I read some review in Lazada that this prism tv some got such problem.

Aiwa is some unknown company which bought the name when the real Aiwa of Japan bankrupt long ago.

Towada Audio purchases dormant audiovisual products maker from Sony

June 26, 2017 09:00 JST

Extract of Article

In February this year, Sony sold the brand name's rights to Towada Audio, which manufactures electronics products for other companies. Towada Audio is based in Akita Prefecture in northeastern Japan and makes small radios and a few other products for Sony.

Towada Audio has created a new company using the Aiwa name and based in Tokyo to relaunch the brand. Starting at the end of September, products like CD boomboxes and 4K TVs with the Aiwa logo will be sold at electronics retailers and department stores across the nation.

At least they are upfront about their background. The TVs looks promising with 3 yrs warranty... hopefully quality and support is good.

Can share more about backlight? Is this s manufacturing defects or all UHD TV will have except the seriousness of it?

So far I read positive review on Shopee about aiwa.

I read about backlight bleeding on prism+ on Shopee too... of course difficult to compare all review because prism sold more units than Aiwa.

Anyone actually bought this? Can share your review? Considering the 40 inch without smart function.

Recently i bought 55" Aiwa TV and sadly its with back-light bleeding all along the edges. I dont know the seriousness and seek AIWA clarification but insist its not defect, a dispute now.

Can anyway advise how do u define a back-light bleed?

Most edge lit TVs and entry level FALD TVs have it.
Unless you go for OLEDs or top drawer LEDs like the Sony Master series, it will be there...

OK, but is how do I know if it's a concern when there is too much backlight bleeding? What is the guide line?

Looks quite bad.. I would complain too. You showed them the pic and they say it's normal?

Showed them the pic and they said their display set also have and simply ignore me. Insist me to pay for service charge if their technician doesn't give it as defect.

Hope with involved of CASE and treat this as bad lemon.

The quality of your unit looks like the Prism in the following thread, which isn't good. As Gain City is also selling Aiwa, can check if the shop have a display unit for u to compare with so can see if u have a lemon or that Aiwa is just bad.

Took a pic of my LG 55UN7200PTF as comparison.
