I've been looking at google street view and other japan guides but I am confused over the area

It seems the buildings and shops dealing with consumer electronics and what not are somewhat spread out? Is there a particular street that I should focus on?

We went to Yodobashi and almost didn't make it out. Think it will suffice.

Chuo Dori is the main road that separate the 2 main section of what akihabara have to offer.

Along each side of the road, that's smaller road & alleys that leads to stretch of shops behind those main building along the road.

Oh, the gents in the arcade center (red building with SEGA wordings) is worth a visit :p

There's a game you can play while pissing in the urinal. The longer you piss on the bulleye's spot on the urinal, the stronger the wind blow in the anime screen . The stronger the wind blow, the higher the girl's skirt will go :p

Most subway station , yes. But do note that subway is different from JR station. subways are those that goes underground.

JR is the one on ground/above and there's a number for each different line going to different direction. And some main stations with many lines, it's most prob not duplex.

But fret not, usually there'll be a sign at each platform stating the stations which station the train on that line will be stopping at.

Oh and some lines run normal/limited express/express trains. So express/limited express trains might not stop at the station you want.

To make it easier, if you're using android phone, just use the japan train app. check on the app each time you want to head anywhere and the app will tell you which platform to go for which train etc

Not sure about any app for apple

Maybe I got this wrong but it seems the subway map shows akihabara stn connected to the iwatomocho stn? I know they are on different lines but are they connected somehow?

reason for asking is I will be travelling between these 2 places but google maps keep asking me to use JR lines instead of the subway (which i will be getting a subway pass)

Not connected. They are within 5mins or so walking time of each other though.

Google map works for me. I prefer it as it shows the way to walk to and from stations or bus stops. Hyperdia for example doesn't show the way from the destination station to where you want to go.
