an update..
After having Tourpass (qualifies for cc points/miles as the purchase is not considered to a prepaid card directly).

The remaining balance in the debit card CANNOT be transferred to your balance or to another individual. So have to spend it all, otherwise, the refund may be subjected to FCY spread and conversion fees (~3% for most credit cards)

I also had someone transfer me balance. But to use that balance, I was told to re-verify myself (passport + photo), although this was done once last year. Verification of the photo takes a few hours.

Thanks for the updates. It is stated in the Alipay Tourpass that the prepaid balance can not be transferred to your normal balance or another individual. As of now itself is not very useful. Rather you can just top up a minimum amount like RMB100 and spend it.

The usefulness right now is to enable you to top up the normal balance by receiving transfer from others. Then you can enjoy the convenience of Alipay.

Successfully spent all of the 200rmb balance I have in my TourPass. No issues using cash anywhere too. Don't sweat over Alipay or WeChat Pay- you will still get by with cash.

China friends can send $ to your tour pass via QR?

Any limits when it comes to spending?

Not to your Tourpass prepaid account, but rather to your normal Alipay balance through transfer, as per the success reports here in this thread.

The normal Alipay balance is much more flexible than Tourpass prepaid account, basically no limit in terms of spending, also no expire date unlike the prepaid Tourpass.

But you may not to transfer a large amount, rather try a small amount to see if it is a success or not. I consider this as a loop hole now so they may plug the hole any time.

Since your TourPass expired after 90 days, you can register for a new TourPass using your passport after the 90 days. You have to scan the passport again.

They say only passport can only use once....

Also, the old tourpass(expired) card is still shown in the app despite being frozen. Cannot remove...

My tourpass has expired too, there are 2 options, re-activate or refund. Clicking on re-activate has some messages and a confirm button that is grayed out. Clicking on refund will say that you have 0 balance, so no refund. I am wondering will they really refund us.

Do you see an option to re-activate or refund?

There is option to reactivate or refund.
But when you press it says the service is not available. Similar to someone upstairs

Ok I am now in the same situation. Card Frozen because it expired. Unable to re-activate as the "Confirm" button is greyed out. The Refund options brings up a pop-up that says "The balance is less than 0.1 CNY, you cannot apply for a refund".

It is now possible to reactivate.

But I changed my credit card earlier for security reasons. Now it is not possible to use anymore. The tourpass is fixed to you( via passport) so GG.com liao

I have received my refund through the Singapore credit card I used during registration. This took about 10 days after the expiry date of my account.

What is the warning or alert you see on your screen? Do you use QR code payments regularly with the same phone in Singapore?

Hi all.

I came back from china back in jan. Still have about 1400rmb inside. I forgot about that and cancelled my cc recently.

Am I able to use alipay tourpass in Singapore to pay for stuff? Like restaurants that have the alipay logo - to use up my funds?

You have nothing to lose from trying. Try it at a bubble tea chain, for instance. At worst the payment fails and you have to pay with other modes of payment.

Another possible way to expend the amount is to send a screenshot of your QR code to someone in China for him/her to make a payment. This requires some coordination as the QR code changes every X minutes/hours. I recall you will be notified in TourPass but I do not think you need acknowledge for the payment to go ahead.
