Hi Hi,

I will be going to taiwan this april, one of the plan is to go Alishan. I need some advice how do i go up to Alishan, i saw some info that part of the train service is close, got confuse also plan to go fenchuhu.

Anyone went up recently??

i will be at Gaoxiong before heading to Alishan, need you guy expert advice on how to plan the flow.

train going up alishan is still closed
but from alishan station to zhushan station n alishan station to shenMu station is working

i have contacts for accommodation and transport for gg Alishan. For transport, you can contact 許小姐 @ 0919-860951. she will pick you up @ TRA Chiayi stn. Per head is NT300. she will also give a brief description of the scenic spots you see along the way like tea plantations and such. so she double up as a travel guide.she also organises trip to see sunrise @ Yushan. iirc i think is NT300 or 350.a very nice lady.

as for accommodation, can call 侯阿姨 @ 0932-879842 and ask what's the room rate under her pool.she is like a travel agent of sorts. i stayed @ 櫻山大飯店 for NT1000/nite and the location is very convenient. near the 7-11.

as for Kaohsiung to Alishan, take HSR from Zuoying to Chiayi. then transfer to a free shuttle bus from the HSR Chiayi stn to TRA Chaiyi stn. need to walk a bit to the TRA Chiayi stn after alighting. was there Nov 2010. enjoy your trip!

is the train tickets from Chiayi to Feiqihu that really hard to get as I read from http://wikitravel.org/en/Alishan?

I'm planning to go last week of apr/first week of may but I'm afraid that I will not be able to get the tix... hmmm

1. go to chiayi hsr > opp got bus station > buy bus ticket up to alishan
sometimes (most times) there will be drivers asking u to share their car at almost the same price as the bus (+100-200NTD/pax only)
2. alight at your minsu of your choice (i will recommend lauya minsu, lovely place and host).
3. upon request, the minsu owner will arrange a driver to send you to fengqihu on the day itself, and next day sunrise tour.
