lol singtel cant even allow us to do that
but other isp allows.
You should be able to connect directly to Singtel ONT, Just follow these steps : http://www.mytechfetish.com/2010/11/set-vlan-id-on-network-adapter-in.html?m=1
Damn...singtel tech say those normal speed test is the wrong web to test. if want to test, test their so call local server test.
end up I get maybe 400+ dl and 500+ up. and say that he can't explain why. Google up say y it's router's qos fault.
btw just asking if my ul higher than dl does that means my information is been upload faster than the information I'm trying to download?
haha, do you have samknows unit installed?
the actual speed will be more accurate if its multi-threaded. i am using the samknows white box and almost all the time its nicely cruised at 930 down and 940 up. when tested against web based speed test, usually low 900 to high 890 down up. the timing of the day also matters...
i mean, if you are in doubt about the speed you are getting, try to match real world experience with speedtest result. if both doesn't really concur, for sure you know its the speedtest server issue lor..
nah i didnt sign up for samsknows.
i see, ya like what he say benchmark is just a score not your daily usage...so its like just "deal with it"
has anyone called singtel to push for the firmware of the router to be upgraded?
Just updated the firmware to 6.0.20.1.95
If you have not done so already, just call 1688 and ask for a firmware upgrade. They will do it remotely in an hour max. Took 5mins after the phone call for me.
All settings made in gateway remains the same.
I usually have miotv lags. And slowdowns in wifi after 20++ hours
I have no issues so far(1hr) after update just yet.
Here's a workaround to enable channel bonding.
- Go to advanced gateway and enter username and password.
- Go to sitemap. Under Maintenance, Click on Backup.
- Save your current settings to download it to your system.
- Download it twice or make another copy.
- Using a xml editor, open the file. Search(Ctrl F) for 20Mhz(2 results returned)
- Change 20Mhz to 40Mhz save as and name the file whatever you want.
- Go to the backup page and restore from a previous backup and upload the new xml.
- You might need to restart the modem for the changes to be live.
*Channel bonding will increase wifi speeds but lowers the wireless range.
Personally, i felt the wifi speeds doubled with no loss in signal strength.
You are free to mess around with other settings in the xml.
Changing some settings might break miotv from working. If so, just do a factory reset and restore your previous settings that worked.
