All about Yilan

Bringing my kids there this March holdays and I've booked a few farms to visit, namely Guanshing Leisure Farm, Zhang Mei Ama Farm (buy from Klook) & Toucheng Leisure Farm.

What else are there to do for Yilan?

I brought my kids to E-Long Goat Farm (various animals feeding) and Lucky Art Crayon Factory....

Beside the goat farm got a small amusement park also...

The Crayon Factory more suitable for younger kids... maybe 5-10yrs old... can make crayons and marker pens etc...

Crayon Factory is in Suao... so maybe can drop by the cold spring park... it is one of the few rare cold spring in the world...

Nice, that's one of my plans too. How long would u suggest I put aside for Lucky Art Crayon Factory and can I just get the tickets when I'm there?

I spent abt 2-3 hours there… actually not much crowd there so can just get the tickets there…

Is taking Taxi convenience in Yilan? If let say i want to travel from Suao to Dongshan area in Yilan. Ask the hotel to call a taxi for me will it be difficult to get?

I just went there today with my kids and just nice they have an English tour. If not, their Chinese your runs hourly.

Had a tasting flight and didn't buy anything in the end. It's a very pleasant experience and the place is huge.

I need a driver just for 1 full day to ferry us (4 adults 2 kids) from Yilan city hotel to Zhang Mei Ah Ma farm and 清水地热公园, and back to hotel. I suppose it will be from 930am to about 4pm.

should I rely on local taxis or better book a driver in advance? What might be the market rate?

in the first place, you can take train from taipei train station to yilan.

anyway, i think if u going just point to point, local taxi will be fine.

Am traveling with 2 old folks and a baby, so was thinking of getting point to point traveling to avoid the getting taxis at the respective locations (probably need 2 separate taxis too).

The hotel has quoted me 8hrs for about NT5800. Rather pricey so was wondering what’s the freelance driver rate

Can travel via bus and train. I stayed in Jiaosi for 2 days in Mar, took train to Luodong station and took bus to Zhang Mei Ah Ma farm. Din visit other towns of Yilan though. You can use Google map to plan and check bus timing.
