I feel that Nvidia fans may not be entirely happy about this release.

ITs like Nvidia purposely disabled that 256 CUDA cores in the initial release. Made the fans paid 1.2K for the card. A while later, they made the Titan X fans feel horrible with slightly crippled card called 1080ti at 1/2 the price.

Then decide to enable that last 256 cores, slapped on slightly faster RAM and come out with a brand new Titan Xp at 1.2K again.

Btw, I think 3840 core Pascal is already available on the Quadro P6000.

I really hoped no one is crazy enough to buy P6000 for gaming just because of that 3840 CUDA cores. That card cost around USD5K. Now you can have a even faster gaming card Titan Xp (1.6GHz vs 1.4GHz) for USD1.2K.

But then again, how many titan x owner are actually complaining? Its probably good not to assume titan x owner are upset cos i realised most of those who complain dont even own a titan.

If an average user just buy a titan and get upset, he or she is probably just ill informed of the titan position in the market.

But meh, I used it to do something and that already paid me back the difference.

People don't realize the value of technology drops with time, 3 years later the value drops to zero. Might as well buy at the start of the 3 years than at half a year later. But then of course the price you pay at half a year later will be less.

-1080 price drop
-1080 ti launch
-Titan X(p)
although it doesn't affect how I use the computer.

Do I regret the $4250 for my first HP LaserjetII printer purchase in 1989 and later paid another $600 for a 256K memory upgrade module for the printer? Today, a multi-purpose laser printer with 4 time higher resolution cab get at sub $300. I don't regret the purchase, it met my requirement and allowed me to finished my works with the best possible result with the investment.

Agreed. If u want it or need it. Just go get it at the starting and do not expect the price to maintain or appreciate. Just enjoy using the whole span of period till u swap. Remembering when i used to pay close to 4K for my Tri SLI 780ti with waterblocks and selling it only at $600 haha. At least I had fun with them for the whole of 4 years.
