Let says you married 20 years ago to a 20 years old young, pretty lady with great figure and personality. Do you slap yourself silly now when your wife no longer the 20 years old young, pretty lady with great figure and personality?

Do I regret the $4250 for my first HP LaserjetII printer purchase in 1989 and later paid another $600 for a 256K memory upgrade module for the printer? Today, a multi-purpose laser printer with 4 time higher resolution cab get at sub $300. I don't regret the purchase, it met my requirement and allowed me to finished my works with the best possible result with the investment.

+1,

I build a pc that cost more than 5k and i know 5 years later it can be left at a shelf for display. I still build it anyway.

But my principle is that if i am going high end, build it with the best look possible because PC look will not depreciate.

that why i always said buy the best that you can afford at that moment. no point thinking so much. as long as after you buy, you use it.

Did a sub $300 multi-purpose laser printer with 4 times higher resolution release 7 months after you purchase your $4250 HP LaserjetII printer?

I feel that Nvidia fans may not be entirely happy about this release.

ITs like Nvidia purposely disabled that 256 CUDA cores in the initial release. Made the fans paid 1.2K for the card. A while later, they made the Titan X fans feel horrible with slightly crippled card called 1080ti at 1/2 the price.

Then decide to enable that last 256 cores, slapped on slightly faster RAM and come out with a brand new Titan Xp at 1.2K again.

I would guess its more likely a marketing strategy borned out of improving yield and engineering optimization over time.

Invalid argument I guess. $300 and $4250 is way too exaggerated.

The TXP was replaced by a 1080 Ti that is 40% cheaper. Not 93% like you mentioned. And the 1080 Ti is not 4 times faster according to your logic.

Titan are halo objects and they always be. If you wish Nvidia go back to how it was in the GTX 500s day, you are better off praying that AMD is coming back as a strong competitor against Nvidia.
