thank god nothing happened and you managed to stop in time.

she had all the time and space to look out for oncoming vehicles but she didnt bother to stop and look. my guess is that she thought ok since the car infront go i shd be safe to go. dangerous.

Why driver is not suppose to be sitting on the left side of the car!?!?

Given if the driver is to be on the left, I think most people will wake up the idea not to wait for on-coming vehicle to go as most will only be 'AWAKE' when concerning of own personal safety.

Such incident is common.

All straight-going motorists must lookout for these right-turning ones.

Right-turning motorists must oso wait for the straight-going light to turn red, before making the turn. Some straight-going motorists will cheong one when they see amber light.

i also encounter this a few times. actually can sort of anticipate the other car's move. we just need to be extra alert in such situations like many other bros here say.

That's why my right leg is always on brake instead of accelerating when approaching this kind of junction

Better to be safe than saving those 2-3 mins

Nowadays approaching junction have to slow down just in case of situations like this. Defensive driving. :)

PS. As i mentioned before, this new right turn on green feature is causing a lot of accidents.

When u're on that stretch of road doing a right turn, it's very hard to spot the opposite on coming cars as there's a slight road bend on the opposite lane.

I drive past there quite often and do a similiar right turn.. Everytime i wait for green arrow then i dare to turn.. Can't really see the opposite oncoming cars even if u move ur vehicle front. Just be extra alert when driving along that stretch.. The lady driver is definitely at fault in this case.

Yes. Can turn right at intersection when opposite direction is green. If i remember correctly, this was started a few years ago, last time cannot turn right unless opposite direction is red. :o

Too many cars on the roads nowadays, coupled with impatient drivers. Just look at the number of jams daily due to accidents.

The traffic here is even worse than sg! But I must commend that the drivers here all very polite to give way, no horning or whatsoever.

opps what i meant was straight and right turning for the same direction. I tot all along there is no red arrow for most junctions? Means we can turning anytime as long as opposite direction no cars?

I think lta should change all junctions to this. straight and right turning together for the same direction. pedestrians can cross safely on the left.
