Alpen Route Alpine route - everything

Hi. Planning to do an overnight stay along the Alpine route coming from Ogizawa this mid May. Considering either Hotel Midagahara or Tateyama. Any views which would make a better option?

I haven't stayed at either one, but I would think hotel tateyama will be preferred since it is at the highest point of alpine route.

Hi all, quick question. Will be arriving in Japan mid-April but only going through the alpine route from Matsumoto in May. Does anyone know if I can purchase the Option Pass but use it only 1 month later?

Reason is pass can be purchased in airport (which I can buy upon arrival) and Nagano station (but not going there). Pass also not sold in Matsumoto. So I need some help here. Anyone?

tt time i kanna rain and heavy fog when i went up. cant see anything. but bobian i already booked my accom at murodo. so just stay indoor.

u may want to choose a different day to go up

I have switched to an earlier date with sunny forecast. The new itinerary requires me to switch accommodation more frequently but I feel it would be worth it considering the Alpine route is supposed to be the highlight of our trip.
