Alternator Issue

What are the sign(s) that above is giving way? I don't have voltmeter etc.

Last Monday have had a bad experience, left stranded at Jalan Kayu after highway before gantry carpark and prata shop.

Pls advise

How you know its a alternator issue and not battery issue?

Get a battery meter from Taobao ~ cheap cheap can check charging and battery capacity

The meter I bought just clip on and follow the instructions and the meter show all kinds of info

just buy those cigarette lighter type volt meter... anything below 12.7 is not charging when engine running...

bro can buy a bluetooth odb 2 port adapter, and use torque app. the app can check a lot of things in your car, like error code n stuff....

the adapter buy online for less than 10. the app is free.

my car is 12 yrs old but yet to change the alternator..
my common practise is every 2 years +, will change the battery.

usually at age 7 - 8. Usual culprit is the carbon brush in the alternator is worn to nothing.
I bought mine to do recon for $60 including bearing and the brush.

Works as good as new.

that's sweet.

I was told alternator, they just rebuild it, changing the copper wiring etc.
if you happen to have the shop name, its even better, keep as reserve.

I very scare and lost if my car ever break down in sg..

That shop very hard NOT to notice cos whole frontage window filled with alternators LOL
