Any idea why I always get the occasional "Display driver amdkmdap stopped responding and has successfully recovered." error when playing certain games?

I managed to fix it by having to use MSI afterburner to underclock my core and memory clock by 5% and up the core voltage in order to fix this issue.

I used to have a GTX580 for a few years until it started artifacting as well as having the display driver stopped responding error, switched to current hd7770 and realized i still get this display driver error.

I'm using a 650w corsair psu. Could it be a PSU issue? System is about 5 years old now

when did you update your drivers?

Don't think it has anything to do with drivers. Since both nvidia and amd gpu ended up having this display driver error. Although the nvidia gpu eventually died from artifacting. Currently using catalyst 15.7 for my 7770 gpu.

the gpu is relatively new. still under warranty. i purchased this 7770 to replace my gtx580 which died earlier this year. not sure if it's psu related. usage is web surf, videos, gaming. although this display driver error only occurs on certain games. have tried running stress tests with no issues.

and it's definitely not an overheat issue. peak temps are around 60c on load.

I encountered before, either "driver has stopped working and recovered" or straight away blue screen. Tried reinstalling & changing driver version but none work. End up it's because my cpu and graphic card too dusty, got 1 lump of dust jamming the fan :s13: After clearing out the dust, everything work swee swee until now :s12:

Just sharing my experience, might not work for you tho.
