Yup I had 2 x Kingston 4GB HyperX. One of them became a crucial without heatspreader apparently. Nothing else I think of. PSU, SSD, HDD are the same. He's telling me he'll get back to me by Monday on what happened. There goes another weekend without my com T.T

Tell him if he does not reinstate every back to normal, a police report will be filed and report to CASE.

OK, up to you to see if you still want to pursue the complaint to get back your parts or not. I mean, they did repair your rig, just that they replaced some of your parts with cheap parts.

Not sure if AsView (Asrock distro) offers out of warranty RMA (for a fee) or not, but at least try to get back the HyperX RAM, I think there may be a lifetime warranty on those RAMs, try to get back the RAM if possible.

Basically, my com keep boot looping and I couldn't troubleshoot the problem myself. So he told me that the prob was with my mobo and gfx card. He told me the mobo can be fixed by replacing the capacitors and the HD6950 to be replaced with the 660ti. I said ok. Then a few days later, he said he didn't have a 660ti, so he claimed he had a 'newer and better' GT 740 for $25 more than the 660ti. I said that's not right cos even if I wanted the GT740, the price lists everywhere show that it's going for ~$180 only. So I told him to return me the fixed stuff without the gfx card.

And today I get the com back with a totally different mobo. I rage and so he claims he's gonna check with his guys where all my parts went, but assures me that the H71M-DGS is better than my old one.

I feel like I'm stepping deeper and deeper into **** lol

One last question , last time you bought this whole system from them? So system got problem find them back?

Or you find other company to repair?

Nope I built this com myself in 2012, never had problems until last Christmas. The problems I've had with previous builds I've managed to handle them myself. But I tried this time without success, and because I was really busy with work I thought I'd take a shortcut and get someone over to fix it.

The usual protocol for those"IT shops" is to take your good parts and replace with substandard parts without you knowing and chop you, bill you with low end parts and overpriced items. Last time I IT noob also get chop by those HDB IT shop. My Pentium 266mhz upgraded to Celeron 400mhz. Lolz

Actually IT shops in SLS are not the con type.

Yes there are still some. Go backlane and you can see many repair shops with cheapo low-end replacement parts. Any uncle bringing his son's gaming machine there would probably get chopped as well.

The non-con shops selling desktop parts (ie your Bizgram, TP, Foowell) would only "con" you to buy higher end parts :s13:
