think lta want to normalize coe at 100k already. by adjusting the quota as and when.
coe price will increase slowly by few % every year steadily, just like inflation.

those waiting for huge dip like 50% may have a hard time waiting

Some point was risen 10 years ago, but premium still dropped. When the supply gets big enough, price will drop for sure. At least $50k cat A by 2029.
Buyers of $100K COE cars will sell their cars and get the newest models if COE drop that much :s22: Plus the never ending demand for new cars supply (remaining constant or little growth) will never meet demand.
only real drop in demand probably will be during wide spread recession…

yar, only if drop $50k or so right? Still have to top up for the same model (With new feature etc)

Most people won't proceed because of the "loss" despite saving more if they can stick to the next car for 10 years. Don't know simi psychology but it's like this.

Premium also won't dip to $50k just like that, it will take maybe 4-5 years from here?

Realistically for COE substantial drop will mean there are very much less demand for cars to have this huge drop… not very optimistic… excluding corporate related COEs bid looking at current long wait for driving tests the car ownership demand has grown faster compared to earlier years.
in my memory only during recession period you will see empty car showroom - that’s probably the only chance if saving for a “rainy day” to show hand :s13:

Problem is gahmen want COE cos they think it helps to reduce car ownership. However, that is down to balloting and quantity.

The reality is car ownership is at an all time high. Public transport is too crowded and troublesome for families. COE is still too cheap for rich and dual income couples.

Some people said that long ago and many times. Coe rarely will never fall that much...

They bring in richer folks who can afford...which is good. Coe revenue use for cdc vouchers
